Beautiful your video. I was thinking of buying that actioncam. I do not know English well, I'm sorry, but from your enthusiasm you understand that the action cam is very valid. Thanks, IMO yes its better than the Yi 4K+ just for the fact that the Yi's stabilization was not that good plus it stopped working for me and Yi would not do anything about it. I am using the firmware that came with the SJ8 Pro version 1.20

Morning Andre, this is without a doubt the best camera out so far and its performance was exemplary and not one hitch that I could see. GoPro killer.....yep and not just because of the performance, also the pricing. Wish I was an octopus because 2 thumbs up is not enough

Fantastic review man❤️loved it. can you help me decide between sj8 pro and firefly SE? i was hearing that Sj8 pro had some audio issues , freezing issues and shutting down issues. From what i understand these issues are from a batch of items only. since some say there are now such problems with the camera. So can you help me out. dis you have any software issues regarding Sj8 pro? what do you recommend ?

I have had no problems with my SJ8 Pro at all. But if you want to be safe the Firefly 8SE is a solid choice

I have NEVER had any issues with my SJ8 Pro freezing or anything like that.

Yes it does, but remember that it's a digital zoom so quality suffers when zoomed in.

Did they add Gyro / EIS to resolutions other than 1080p/60FPS? I do Motovlogging and would like decent stabilization in "SV" or wide angle mode.

I have now switched to the GoPro Hero 7 Black....My SJCAM SJ8 Pro broke within a couple of months of using it (shut off and wouldn't turn on at all). SJCAM told me to contact the seller which I did who offered to send me a new one...it never arrived. They supposedly sent a second (from Malaysia again) it never arrived again. Then the seller said they would refund me...never happened despite repeated promises. I contacted SJCAM to tell them I wanted to get a replacement and sent them video of the malfunction (like I did to the seller). They erased my help ticket like it never existed...I haven't heard back from them...I'm done with SJCAM...which is sad because I like the SJ7 STAR for cockpit video when I fly. The only problem I've had with the two SJ7 STAR cameras is that the micro usb port has broken off in both cameras (I superglued a micro usb to usb cable on the second one before it totally broke off so I could keep using it in the plane while charging it at the same time with a USB power supply). The first SJ7 would not record sound after the micro usb port broke (while using the plug in official SJCAM microphone). The GoPro Hero 7 surpasses everything...that's all I'm saying..the only problem is that it's never going to be as cheap as SJCAM. I did all of my video reviewing with the SJ7 and SJ8 but they will be retired soon with GoPro cameras. The hypersmooth technology is what sold me and it is great. I do not have room in the plane to have a gyro.

That's a shame to hear. Something must be going on with SJCAM, maybe staffing changes etc. Luckily my SJ8 Pro is still working like a champ but I have heard others complain about the poor customer service which is surprising to hear since they used to be so good with their customers.

Not related to this camera (but I do now own the SJ8 Pro), what software are you using to create your videos? They are top notch and added to that is your TV announcer voice.

Dude.... I'm still rocking the SJ,4000.... I'm heading to NYC in December 2019.... Think it's time for an upgrade.... I do very basic video, I'm looking for better quality than my SJ,4000 - I'mactually looking at going rogue, n getting a Chromebook n doing my future editing on Android apps! Say what! Anyhow love your videos, ❤️ from 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 🥰🤣 so I'm watching this device closely 👍. I'm only needing 1080p wae no sound 👍

I still have the SJ4000 Wifi. I was so amazed with the quality that I didn't bother on upgrading. Instead I bought a Zhiyun Rider-M (which is like 4x the price of the camera), to help with the stabilization.

Hi Andre, if possible a direct comparison of Firefly 8Se with Sjcam Sj8 Pro using in the latest 1.2.4 firmware. That would be much appreciated. Thank you so much for the great work.

Yes, in fact 8Se has no stabilization in this case, but even in 1080p, the idea was to compare the picture quality between these cameras. Are there comparatives of the 8Se developers, where would be better picture than the Sj8 pro?! .. but you know how it is, I would like to see something more unbiased.

I will do a comparison in 1080 with EIS on both cameras then a 4k test of both of them just mounted stationary so EIS won't be a concern just to see image quality of both side by side. I'm very unbiased, I only tell it like it is and what "my" impressions are.

hello sir i like this cam cause it can run on 4k60 at fps but im hesitating cause some say it has issue on audio, heating at 4k resolution and freezing is a huge downside can you please enlighten me yk this wll be my first purchase if ever

p.s. H265 is no problem in Linux.....

It's got 24p and flat color? You guys can thank me for that later. 🙂 That gyro is the real deal though!

Yes you can turn on distortion correction on the SJ8 Pro

Having one problem- sometimes it will not power on- i have to pull the battery out put it back in and then it will power on- hopefully firm update fixes this issue

V1.2.0 It just did it again wouldn't power on- took battery out-put battery back in- power came on - weird
