At least when the Harden trade went down, there wasn't an effective Hardcap in the 2nd Apron. Morey multiple times said "within the limits of the CBA". In the old CBA you could have overpaid Harden (just like Tobi was overpaid) and go further over the Lux Tax, without roster consequences. Not true in the new CBA, which fully takes effect next month. I think there is some weird stuff going down. It would be tampering if Morey was trying to send a signal to PG and Morey has demonstrated he is afraid of being accused of tampering. PG would use 49.45 M out of 53.75 M of practical cap space. There would only be ~5.5 M of space left, not including the 8.0 M room-MLE. Morey or any member of the media who thinks that would be a good move, should lose their license to practice or talk about basketball. It would make all the talk about signing other free agents moot.

People that say get rid of Embiid think the grass will be greener on the other side. It's not time to mow the lawn.

The guy I think could be a Derrick White type player and maybe even better for the Sixers is Gary Trent Jr. He had his best years under Nurse and might not cost a ton.

Sixers need a true point guard or build maxey into one then bridges on the 2 oubre3 naz reid 4 and center embiid

Sixers know they can't get OG..it would be great to offer him contract that Knicks will have to match but that contract will be structured where knicks will have a problem signing other players

It is FAKE NEWS for clicks or helping the representative guarantee that OG gets closer to the full 30% of the cap, Max Contract (starts at 42.3 M) And OG's agent is the son of Knicks POBO, Leon Rose. That is all you need to know. They are using the Sixers to pressure Leon Rose to offer more.

OG will resign with NY because NY gave up some solid assets to get him, so they will try their best to retain him, so that’s not gonna happen. And PG, in LA, his home, and where they just got a new stadium, means the organization is going to try to fill those seats and sell hope on the appearance and appeal of their roster (with the core of PG, Harden, and Kawhi) so Philly is probably just in it for leverage to force PG’s extension. If one of them in that LA core leaves, then they go nowhere (and even if they stay together, I don’t think they’ll win anything, but still) - because of that, the clippers will match or outdo offers to retain PG, so it’s not gonna happen. And Morey hasn’t been successful in his style of star hunting (and hasn’t won a chip) because he’s defining insanity by doing the same thing repeatedly and looking for different results - HE NEEDS TO CHANGE, SEE THE ERROR IN HIS WAYS, AND ADAPT TO THE MODERN NBA (WHERE SUPERTEAMS ARE NOT SUCCESSFUL) Nets, Phoenix, Clippers, etc. in recent years & IT’S 2 STARS WITH A DEEP SUPPORTING CAST THAT’S CORRECTLY BUILT AROUND THEM (Like Denver, Minnesota, Boston, Dallas, etc.) making it the furthest. They need to focus on a backup PG and C for minutes that they are off the court, or a combo guard to share the PG workload in Maxey’s case, and then plug in formidable defensive minded players and consistent shooters around them. If Morey were as good a GM as Howie, he would know we need to consider any of the following: Malcolm Brogden, Alex Caruso, Andre Drummond, Lauri Markkanen, Malik Monk, Donovan Mitchell, Mikal Bridges, Dorian Finney-Smith, Luke Kennard, Jonathan Issac, Bogdan Bogdanovic, John Collins, Isaiah Stewart, Bruce Brown, Clint Capela, Torrey Craig, Kyle Kuzma…and so forth… All that being said…if they’re smart enough to resign to Kelly Oubre, Batum, and Ricky Council IV, they need to play Council more often. There's no perfect player out there LBJ is 40yrs, Jimmy disruptive & injury prone, PG max contract untradable in a couple years, Miles Bridges off the court issues but at least he's $30+mil cheaper, younger & gives us the same as Jimmy/PG

The issue shouldn't be the 1st 2 yrs. The issue is the last two yrs. I believe Ballmer/Frank will concede the 3rd year and give a partial guarantee for the 4th season, when PG will be age 37. Ballmer is one of the top 10 richest people in the world. He is just trying to protect his team from losing even more flexibility to improve, if they happen to go over the 2nd Apron for 4 more years. Their 2031 pic would permanently become the #30 pic, even if the Clips had the worst team in the NBA in 2031. Their 2032, 2033 and 2034 pics would be frozen (not allowed to be traded) if they went over the 2nd Apron every year. 2nd Apron teams can't aggregate players to make a trade. 2nd Apron teams are forbidden to trade with any team over the 1st Apron (couldn't satisfy trade matching). They couldn't receive back more salary than the single player they might wish to send out in a trade. 2nd Apron teams can't receive a player back if they wanted to S&T one of their own players. (Already 1st or 2nd Apron teams can't receive a player in a S&T). 2nd Apron teams can't get a player off of waivers. 2nd Apron teams can't use cash in a trade. 2nd Apron teams have no MLE of any kind to upgrade roster. 1st and 2nd Apron teams can't exercise a Traded Player Exception granted during the prior (23-24) season. Morey considers going above the 2nd Apron being a non-starter, so why would he even want to risk it with PG13? Morey may not even wish to go over the 1st Apron.

Correct. Josh Harris had Morey trick Harden into taking a much bigger discount (upon signing PJ Tucker) that was necessary. No one in the media has documented that point, possibly not wanting to piss off the organization. Sixers had 5.5 M of "wiggle room" below the 1s Apron (hardcap) at the time. Then came the Thybulle trade to get Sixers under the Luxury Tax - Mission Accomplished. And don't forget, Isaiah Joe was waived before the season as part of the plan to get below the Lux Tax. The irony is that Sixers are being used as leverage to get a bigger contract for PG by LAC. The outcome will be that Harden will get shafted, with a final contract no better than Josh Harris/Morey were willing to give at the time Harden opted in. Unlike PG, James Harden couldn't get more than a 25 M contract longer term, elsewhere.

PG is JH 2.0. Did Morey (will be Moron if he does this deal) learn NOTHING!!!

Try to trade for Alex Caruso, try to get Andre Drummond resign Kelly Oubre Junior, Nicolas Batum and get two additional players for that remaining 45 to 50,000,000 not one star you don’t need that you need helpers. Not happening. Embiid is the only hope to win a chip. Joel believes he has at least 8 more quality years.

You've probably burned the bridge with all the hate thrown his way, but bringing Tobias back on a discount deal makes a whole lot of sense. Not as good a player as PG, of course, but he's younger, sturdier, and more of a big forward. Same with OG. Harris isn't as good, and he's older than OG, but he's much more durable. Even if he doesn't finish games, he's a solid NBA player who can give you 30 good minutes per night. Add Drummond and Malik Monk and you have a really good team right there plus room to add another piece. Gotta bring Batum and Oubre back, maybe Covington too.

Paul George is an upgraded Tobias Harris and OG Anunoby gets hurt too much, it is a no for me. However, the sixers GM crumble cookie will go and sign these guys because he is lazy and stupid.

Dumb as hell, 35 years old. You see these young teams blazing up and down the court and y’all trying to waist our money on a 35 year old Paul George. Meanwhile our bench is horrible, Sixers are top heavy and need to get younger and balance this team out. When will we stop being the graveyard for retirement players
