This is Gary’s wife Angeli. Clarification needed! Gary composed the music and the late director Freddie Santos wrote these lyrics for the play First Name. The original composition was done in our home in The Philippines in 1988 at 12 midnight. So when Freddie was very sick (he died last December) his dearest friends from Trumpets and Stages and Genesis planned for Gary to re-arrange and he played the keyboards for this spectacular masterpiece of Mori. Praise God ! Thank you for this wonderful reaction video.

Well, that little cute and beautiful girl with the angelic voice, is no longer a she, because Charice is now a Transgender "man" and goes by the name Jake Zyrus. Like I said, DO NOT SALE YOUR SOUL to the Hollywood Music Industry or ANY Huge Cooperate Music Industry for that matter, . . . Period!

Yes, she is a believer too. One guy who was one of the few people during the video’s filming wrote a comment that there was one take that all of them just got so overwhelmed by the song and the Spirit that they all cried - and apparently that’s where that crying clip in the end was taken. And i agree, many christian music nowadays really lack depth, that’s why songs like this is just sooo refreshing like, a spring in the desert.

So glad you reacted to this! Others have given the background to the origin of this song. (It being from a larger musical work by Freddie Santos. ) It was streamed online via a concert site. I was able to see it several times. When it came to her part I was blown back! It is one of the most beautiful performances ever. Those were indeed real tears, as was relayed by her label head who was at the filming in the comments of that video. Gary V also shared there ,that he had never arranged one of his songs ever for anyone before doing this for Morissette. The result ,as you said and I agree, is one of the most hauntingly beautiful performances she's done. Morissette is a devout believer and VERY vocal about her faith. In about 17 minutes direk Freddie Santos penned Gary's most endearing inspirational song. Without hesitation, direk Freddie called his friend Gary and asked if he could consider writing music to the lyrics he wrote. At first, Gary said he was busy , then direk Freddie was surprised when Gary invited him in the house. They went upstairs (Gary studio in the attic), they went up 5pm and didn't come down until 5am. Gary was glued to his keyboards the whole time putting melody to the lyrics. On December 17, 2020 the award winning director Freddie Santos died peacefully and left us with this song.

Mr Steele, thank you for not being ashamed of your faith and now for reviewing Mori's worship in song. We have seen the playful, cutting, romantic and rocking side of Asia's Phoenix...but now we can appreciate her emotional and inspirational offerings here and also in Love You Still and Phoenix.

Way back 1990, my first professional gig allowed me to work overseas and during the most trying times, I would draw inspiration and courage from this song by Freddie Santos, sang by Gary V. Now, full circle, with Morissette (my favorite artist these days) , I could not help but be thankful for this cover. Draw inspiration and allow yourself to be an instrument of God's love and assurance to fellow men that everything will be alright. Thank you very much for this.

I was a big Gary V fan when I was living in the Philippines in the early 90's. I was a fairly new believer when I was there, and this song, along with "Take me out of the Dark" always made me very emotional....still does to this day. Morissette was perfect for this song.
