Unfortunately you just showed your musical ignorance. Dolly Parton wrote the song and it went to number one twice before Whitney Houston ever did it. And it's a sweet song based on Dolly Parton's personal experience and that's how it was recorded So the acoustic is a tribute to Dolly Parton. I can't stand when people post video reactions who are musically illiterate. Take some time off and really learn about music and then come back.

What a delight you are.

Fearless is the perfect word to describe Kelly! And rightfully so! She’s so talented and confident, and can sing anything! Pop, Rock, Country, Blues, R&B, Rap, Show Tunes, Broadway Tunes, Folk, and on and on and on! I don’t know anyone else who is as versatile as she is! In every cover she does, she honors the original but also puts her own style to make it her own. There’s no one like Kelly! ♥️💖❤️🔥🔥🔥

She’s amazing. She does those vocal inflections on purpose to show emotion. It was a tribute to dolly, but she did a blend of Dolly, Whitney, and Kelly. She did this song on “That’s my jam” and hit every Whitney riff and run with ease. This performance she just wanted stripped back. Love her 🥰

This song will show how good you are or make you look bad. This showed how good she is.

Kelly is the most talented singer of our generation. I absolutely love her versatility and exceptional voice

This was such a brilliant version that only Kelly Clarkson can pull off. As a tribute to Dolly and Dolly's version, Kelly had the sweet melancholy approach and then she threw in a little Whitney as a nod to that iconic version and yet - she still made it her own. Bravo to an incredible vocalist and performer!!!

This was tribute to dolly People kept on forgetting that Kelly did a bit of xerox copy of whitney i will always love you on fallon nbc thats my jam with ariana blake & john . She purposely did whitney’s version and arrangement there, she even did most of it in 1 breath. She is a national treasure. She sings from her gut.

Kelly doesn't need a whole band to sound freaking amazing. That voice is a gift from God and it's only gotten stronger and better through the past twenty years. Her mastery at any genre of music is unmatched. She's amazing.

And the fact she was making a tribute to Dolly Parton and not to Whitney Houston made a lot more sense to do a version closer to Dolly. People always get amazed by the big belting notes, but the control required to do what Kelly Clarkson did can be even more difficult. Also, she is totally capable of doing the Whitney Houston version and nail it, we saw her do it in the Mixtape game with Jimmy Fallon and Ariana Grande.

She is a story teller above all else and loves to emphasize the breaks in her voice to showcase the ache and pain in her performance.

I enjoyed that reaction so much. Finally somebody that gets it. Ive watched so many reactions and its amazing how little knowledge of music and artist. Im not saying you need a masters from Berkley but come on. Omg it sounds so different so its bad. Tune into the karaoke awards for that. Thank you sir.

I agree with you 💯 percent, Elizabeth De Razzo. In my opinion, Kelly is the best singer of all time.

Kelly is on the Hamilton Mixtape. She sings a heartfelt version of “It’s Quiet Uptown”

Yes that break could've very well been intentional but with what's been going on in her personal life this HAD to have been a very emotionally difficult song for her to sing and with those specific lyrics her voice cracked on, it could also easily have been unintended. Regardless she sang it beautifully. I have always felt she's one of today's most underrated artists. She can sing anything, and sing it with power or tenderness and always with passion and an emotional punch ❤

I love that she mixed both Dolly and Whitney’s Version to make it her own. Plus I didn’t know that Dolly Parton was the writer of this song and that it was written in 1974. Kelly is such a talented singer. Congratulations on your nuptials.

Sorry, but there is no other singer that has Kelly's vocal ability to sing and master any genre of music. Carrie is great, but not at Kelly's level.

This was nice, but I think I enjoyed her rendition on the jimmy Fallon show better. Where she went up against Ariana Grande. I think she had better breath control on those big notes at the end. But it’s OK, our bodies and voices are different every day.
