@@tony-lam He can only read English translation of China’s commentaries. So he won’t have all account of Chinese history. Most importantly he instigated UK to Passover Hongkong to China in 1997. Saying since it will happen why don’t do it earlier. But he doesn’t know the nature of CCP to be unethical and not hold on to promise

LKY has a very sharp mind and overview of things. I do not see any other world leader who has his sharp mentality, knowledge and wisdom

I believe wat he trying to do his whole life is obsession w power & Ctrl others his ultimate failure is he can't see tat this is not leading him or his family to happiness even himself

One of the most perceptive men of the C20th &C21st. I'd like to see what he wrote about the rioting last August, as his analysis would be a fascinating and insightful read. He's experienced more than I ever have, or would ever want to, but this is what makes him what he is: a great magus. He turned a malarial colonial backwater into one of the most sophisticated societies in the world.

I can't have enough listening to LKY.
Singapore can be easily taken down by Malaysia and Indonesia, but the little island that can survive until today is because of LKY legacy and his wisdom in politics. Like panda he is a protected species to the world. Look at Ukraine now. What a sad story.

Why? Malaysia have no reason to hurt Singapore since they literally kick Singapore out of their country and Indonesia have no desire for such territory since it's not part of their manifest destiny

Indonesia used to want Singapore but failed. Malaysia had Singapore but due to Chinese population of Singapore being a “threat” to Malay power and the main Chinese party not wanting to be replaced.
He is a statesman, who knows reality.
Lol what made the interviewer think that Google and Facebook is so important? 😅

Compared to a country whose best known culture to the world now is "Mass shooting of children", yes this guy is definitely a saint.

But Google cannot do translations properly.
He's right. Asian societies are stricter because they have a lot more people. Encouraging individual freedom is costly and Asian countries have a really hard time containing chaos like that. So, they play it safe. Individual freedom is only awarded in exchange for fulfilling minimum social duties and being extraordinary at the thing you want to be.
I won't argue which is better but doesn't google also work the same as the "chinese web". Your phones and everything needs to agree on their terms otherwise no use for the phone

12 years ago Rose said because of education system they have no Google, Microsoft or Facebook. Now 12 years later, China has Baidu, Huawei, WeChat…
Without Google, Facebook , Microsoft is perfectly alright for Chinese netizens, life online go on as usual for them.😜😜

Massive love and respect for Lee Kuan Yew. RIP to a true legend.
Since USA was playing Double games with Pakistan Regarding India and giving them the prior knowledge of Pak Army Movement via Google Bug. Pakistan Military is now using Baidu GPS which is more Advance and better in use.
Free speech free expression without any filter will be messy and no govt likes that, except maybe USA and UK 😅
No facebook in China? Hello Weibo! No Microsoft? Hello Alibaba and Tencent.... No google? Hello Baidu....
