My wife and I got invited to a Simply Red concert in Brighton UK by 2 of my friends from my childhood who were part of the group. Mick sang this song, and my wife and I both had chills down our spines, it was just awesome. Thank you Dee Johnson and RIP my school friend John.
He must have sang this song thousands of times, but he's still putting all his passion in it ❤🎉

I would love to see Simply Red in concert. I am 63 years old I live in the U.S. I love simply red they are my favorite except Journey with Steve Perry. I broke my leg year before last and 3 weeks ago I broke my hip. But getting better everyday. I would love to see Simply Red in concert before I go anywhere. I listen to If You Don't know me by now. Soul at it's best... rem the first songs were released without a picture of the singer... Most of us were convinced it's a "black" voice.... now it's called blue eyed soul .. who cares¿ it's simply amazing soul❤

I remember hearing this play on Sundays as the sun would set on St. Clair in Toronto exiting my acting class and my Mom would pick me up (when I was 12 in 2004) and I would get in the car and feel that sad Sunday feeling of school being the next day and hearing this song on the radio and not sure what the song meant..I thought how unfair that the other person will not get to know the person singing if they don't know them yet. 😅 But also I DID NOT know Mick and Simply Red sung this song back then! I only found out a few years ago. This song and Sunrise were two I remember coming on the radio a lot in the car in 2003/2004. I think my Mom liked the music too since she would leave it on and get quiet with a fixed trance like expression.. It really fit the long, dark shadows on the snow that the sun cast at 4pm on January Sundays 2004 by the streetcar tracks on St Clair West and the little shops..the sun stinging your eyes wearing Revlon frosted lip gloss and white puffer jacket 😅! 💄

Wow. That crowd sings beautifully. What an atmosphere! I saw him on stage in Bremen about 20 years ago and his singing was so perfect, just like his recordings, you might have had an idea it was playback or enhanced (as so many stars do🤨). But he was leaping about the stage with so much energy that he pulled the cable out of his microphone. 5 seconds of silence till the roadie plugged it back in. That was a fantastic show.

This really resonates. The radio was my friend too.. all the oldies playing in my room by my closet doors at my old house. 97.3 FM easy rock as a kid.
