On his case, aging helped. His voice got thicker, he lost his soft falsetto, but his normal voice pitch got intense and kinda got higher. He used to be sounded like a pop singer. Now he sounded like a world class singer.

I imagine how impressive this song was back in 1991 when it was released.

When people think of truly great music from the 90's, Simply Red often gets bypassed, but listening to this you realise that almost everything about their music, the melody, the backing, the composition, the rhythm - it's simply addictive. With a full orchestra, it's simply breathtaking...

Got to disagree with you about his voice not changing ...... I saw him in concert some 20 years ago and thought his voice was just amazing but now - WOW it’s even better! He has a depth, strength and richness to his tone that is just fantastic. Perhaps the best live voice out there.

Not at all embarrassed to admit I heard this at a gas station today, hopped in my car, and looped it on Bluetooth the entire rest of the day. Of course, it takes me back years, but it's still fresh all these years later.

Im 36, and I remember 90's, my father drive the GM monza in brazil and I was 4 years old, and listenig on k7, omg......

The crowd sings better than popular musicians today. I miss 80's music.

Google says mick was hated for his attitude. Oh well his voice was well loved and who else were able to maintain that very same pitch all these years. He sounds like my childhood and it feels so good.

This is absolutely the reason why we LOVED music..performers and songs like these were given a chance to be mainstream..what ever happened to music these days?? it's watered down to Shouting matches, templates and FALLING STARS burnt out with social media popularity scales, squad goals, relationship goals, looks..so far away from the purpose of Music itself. We're so starved of Pop Songs with Real Music in them. The energy in this video speaks for itself. Everyone looks so happy!

That voice, after all these years, is even better. Most singers with age cannot reach high notes as when they were younger. But Simply Red is simply exceptional. I spent my younger years listening to his songs. I still love them.

Once again I am blown away by Mick Hucknall's stellar performance here. His voice is astonishingly the same as at when he first released this song with Simply Red. Seeing this song live is a whole other experience, and watching Mick work the audience is an absolute treat. What an incredible experience to have your song sung back to you with such passion by an audience whose first language is not English. And look at the diverse audience.
