for anyone confused, what he did was right at 11:01. organic chemistry made a separate vid about simplifying radicals and explains why he rationalized it by 3sqrt of y^1 instead of y^2. the concept here is that your radicals wouldn't be able to cancel if you were to rationalize it by the cube root of y^2. that will just give you the cube root of y^4. basically, what he was subtract 3 (the index) from 2 (the exponent of y) which is how he came up with y^1.

10:58 here you made a mistake, instead of placing y^2 it became y^1 which was very confusing for the last problem because the final outcome of the answer should have been y^2 multiplied to the other y in the denominator and cuberoot of y^2 on the numerator. I've read comments about another mistake with y bruh you got a real problem with y lmao , but overall great tutorial thanks.
@niru2377

there's nothing wrong with the last part, he just used 3^√y to rationalized the denominator. i used the method that my teacher taught me and we have the same answer
@remydexterlavilla4273

Nheil Cabulera yes to rationalize you have to copy whats inside the root, in this case it must have been y^2
@devio10
3 жыл бұрын
Please help really don't get the last problem.. 😪
@aikyjao9575
9 ай бұрын
to rationalize the denominator we don't always have to copy what inside the root, what we actually need to do is multiply the denominator and numerator with the root necessary for the radical in the denominator to be removed. Since the radical in the denominator is cube root of y squared we now only need to multiply cube root of y in order for it to become cube root of y cube, which would ultimately cancel the radical sign .@@remydexterlavilla4273
@aikyjao9575
9 ай бұрын
If cube root of y^2 was multiplied, the denominator would not be rationalized because the radical would become the cube root of y^4

Thank you for all of your videos. You are the best teacher ever.
for anyone confused, what he did was right at 11:01. organic chemistry made a separate vid about simplifying radicals and explains why he rationalized it by 3sqrt of y^1 instead of y^2. the concept here is that your radicals wouldn't be able to cancel if you were to rationalize it by the cube root of y^2. that will just give you the cube root of y^4. basically, what he was subtract 3 (the index) from 2 (the exponent of y) which is how he came up with y^1.
Amazing video! It helped me just in 1 minute! My math teacher takes 2 hours to explain with zero result! Spectacular!
you’re legitimately the only person who has been able to teach me this, thank you :D
this has been the best explanation of these problems that ive seen! Thank you!!!
dude whenever I don’t understand something in class I watch your video on it and it just clicks! You’re a lifesaver!
I have a final coming up and radicals are the only part of the unit that I never understood, specifically the exponents. This video made it look so easy dude, thank you
Took 33 seconds of this video for my problems to go away. Thank you
I really hope this dude is still making videos and perhaps even teaching. I think this guy breaks down the problems really well and really helps with the comprehension of algebraic subjects like this and rational expressions among others. These videos from this gentleman have really been a great help in my math class. @TheOrganicChemistryTutor, if you read this comment, I really hope you're doing well, along with your family and friends, and I hope to see more videos and lessons here on youtube from you and I hope you live a great life. Thank you for these videos, you do a great job in showing how to tackle complex math (well, math that's complex to me haha!) Hope you're well, man. Cheers!🍻🍻🤘

I thought I was dumb not to understand this in school, u make it so much easier plus u have a really relaxing voice
Who wants to start a petition to get better math teachers
this is literally the simplest and easiest explanation I've seen. THANK YOU
this is my favorite math channel. Thank you so much
this is the only channel i watch the ads for, in an effort to support you the way you supported me through highschool and college
Thank you so much for what you did. The videos are so helpful and it's needless to say! I feel like i concentrate more when i watch your online videos than sitting in class all day long. The school system literally drained the fun out of learning and your videos literally proves my point! Thank you and thank you
This was a lifesaver. I don't know why this is, but my textbook and resources at school do not explain it this thoroughly. Thanks.
This is proof that heroes don't need a cape at all to save a lot of people. God Bless You Man! 🙏🏻
This is literally the only video in youtube that shows a step by step clear explanation. Very good
this is very helpful !!! Thank You!!!

Best video i have found on this topic, thank you!
Just about to take a final and you helped me a ton. Thanks.
Just got out of my math class he went over this stuff for an hour and I was lost as hell I’m only 1:21 into this video and all the dots are connecting! You’re literally gonna get me through this semester I swear😂😂
I was sick for a week with an illness, maybe covid, and couldn’t go to school. Couldn’t even study bc I had zero energy and slept the whole week. Thanks for all the videos you’ve made dude, always saves me.
This was so Good. Really easy to follow. Clarified so Much. Thank you
very good explanation. All the other videos on this include problems that are way to simple for the course I'm in. Thanks
This man is a saint 😭🙏 you made it look so easy when i was struggling to simplify basic radicals 😔 i love your videos ❤ please keep it up 😊
Was gone for a day and got a test tomorrow, watching at midnight this helped a ton Ty man
oh my god i have a math test tomorrow on this and i couldnt learn this for the life of me but thankfully i stumbled across this video and now i get it! THANK YOU!
I gotta thank you so many times for carrying me through highschool, I need to put a google drive link for a text document
Thank you so much! I couldn't grasp this until now.

Super helpful! Thanks for the refresher!
good stuffs, I have learnt the entire algebra in 11 min
I rarely like videos and even fewer times comment. But this video helped me out so much. Thank you!
You are such a good teacher !!!
Thank you so much! My teacher is just handing out review sheets on stuff we learned on over a month ago and we have a quiz on it in two days. ;-;
this is the most sense math that i ever learned thank u man
Thank you very much for your time- It's very much appreciated-
My math teacher defines the problem as a flower and uses “pretty” and “ugly” numbers if there was no internet I would fail that class
i was confused for 2 whole weeks but 1 minute in the video it all made sense
Thank you, I finally understand how to apply perfect square factor to variables with exponents. That's been driving me nuts and the textbook and teacher both sucked at explaining
you helped me so much i have a test tomorrow thank you
i just learned what i was so confused about for hours in two minutes tysmMMM!!!!!
This video needs to be on my recommend instead of videos from 10 years ago
Thank u. Thank u so much. Ive been searching all over youtube for an explanation and u are the best. I cant understand the way my teacher teaches it at all and u have helped me sooo soo so much. THANK U!
Thank you so much, you are are a very good teacher!!!!
I almost forgot to subscribe your math is really blowing my mind, Thank you very much for this video, I can understand you more than my math teacher XD, pls keep sending vids I really like yah vid

You sound like a soul singer.
Thank you so much, I definitely needed this!
Thank you so much super happy about coming across this video I have a test tomorrow and this is going to help
You helped me so much! I missed a day of school and I thought I could understand it myself if I just went over the notes but they didn’t have enough detail. I was stumped after each homework problem and now I’m going to ace my quiz on Monday. Thank you so much

Thank you! Helped very much!
Thanks for being that one go-to solution when I needa learn math (im learning faster and its much enjoyable)
you have saved my grade once again 🙏
Wow you really help me this time. You just got a new sub
10:58 here you made a mistake, instead of placing y^2 it became y^1 which was very confusing for the last problem because the final outcome of the answer should have been y^2 multiplied to the other y in the denominator and cuberoot of y^2 on the numerator. I've read comments about another mistake with y bruh you got a real problem with y lmao , but overall great tutorial thanks.

there's nothing wrong with the last part, he just used 3^√y to rationalized the denominator. i used the method that my teacher taught me and we have the same answer
@remydexterlavilla4273

Nheil Cabulera yes to rationalize you have to copy whats inside the root, in this case it must have been y^2
@devio10

Please help really don't get the last problem.. 😪
@aikyjao9575

to rationalize the denominator we don't always have to copy what inside the root, what we actually need to do is multiply the denominator and numerator with the root necessary for the radical in the denominator to be removed. Since the radical in the denominator is cube root of y squared we now only need to multiply cube root of y in order for it to become cube root of y cube, which would ultimately cancel the radical sign .@@remydexterlavilla4273

If cube root of y^2 was multiplied, the denominator would not be rationalized because the radical would become the cube root of y^4
I don't usually leave comments, but dude, you're the best. Thank you so much
thanks a lot! that's very helpful.

you did a great job of explaining the break down!!!Thank you so much!
thanks! totally understood it
I wish my math teachers thoroughly went through all of the steps required to understand these.
I have a test in the next hour and this is helping me soo much!!!!!!!
thank you as always!
Thank you so much! My teacher likes to give us long and cumbersome ways of solving this that are bound to have a mess up somewhere, but this makes it easier. Thank you!
You explain better than my teacher, thank you
Omg. My math teacher didn’t take anymore questions from me because I was really lost. I have a quiz Tuesday about this stuff and after watching the first 5 min. I understood more than what my teacher taught me in 3 hours
