Properties of Exponents - Algebra 2
This algebra 2 /math intro video tutorial explains the basic rules and properties of exponents when multiplying, dividing, or simplifying exponents. It discusses how to simplify negative exponents and exponents with zero powers. It also shows you how to simplify radicals and square roots that contain numbers and variables. This video contains plenty of examples and practice problems for you to work. It provides a nice introduction / basic overview of exponents which is useful for middle school and high school students taking algebra.

Can I just say, your videos are actually good af. Simple and organized. Plus you give examples for us to solve which is really helpful. Thanks a ton fr fr :)
Thank you, really helpful. Just one correction. At 43:30, 4 to the power of 3 multiplied by 4 to the power of 5 does not equal 8 to the power of 8, it equals 4 to the power of 8. 4 to the power of 3 is 64 and 4 to the power of 5 is 1024. 64 multiplied by 1024 is 65536 and 4 to the power of 8 is 65536. 8 to the power of 8 is 16777216. I think you meant to say this as you said the bases must stay the same. All and all a great video thank you so much.

oml im so glad someone else caught this bc ive been wracking my brain to understand why it was 8 and not 4. but yes absolutely, otherwise a great video! im gonna ace my quiz :D
Best teacher ever. The professors here only think of their sallary and teaches so fast that they can't event teach students in an organized manner so that can understand easily. They even make the lessons more difficult
I have a quiz on this tomorrow and I swear this guy has helped me review and understand concepts that the teacher took 3 days to teach in just one video. Keep up the great work!
It's been 17 years since I had an algebra class. Like a dummy, I started a master of arts in mathematics (secondary ed). Pray for me! Also, thank you so much for this helpful video.
Youre wrong at 43:35 it should have been 4 to the 8th power

very true, but we can agree that it is confirmation that he is in fact human and not God, which is refreshing actually considering his mathematical teaching methodology, and that it was quickly cleared up through further examples; he's done a really good job taking someone from total beginner to pre-cal algebra through this content so I give "two-thumbs-up".

Such an amazing video! Thank you so so much! I've been looking for these lessons everywhere on youtube and this is perfect! It goes straight to the point, and teaches everything slowly and transitions into the next steps very smoothly. And in addition to that, the video has everything that I'm looking to learn ALL packed in a one hour lesson! I'm so happy. Halfway done watching this video and I finally understand what my math teacher was "teaching me" for the past 2 weeks. Will definitely finish watching, and come back to this channel if i ever need more information. I rarely write comments like this on videos, but you truly helped me and are saving me from failing my test in less than a week. Thank you so much sir!

I seriously appreciate you so much. I was feeling so overwhelmed even looking at these problems because I’m so intimidated with exponents, fractions, and negatives. It was all so confusing to me and I didn’t think I would ever understand. I am truly grateful you take time out of your day to help people like me to understand.
It's funny that, as a kid, I hated math. Now, I sometimes teach it and love to practice problems on my own. True, I'm still not that crazy about functions and logarithms, but the material presented here was great. Just wish I knew this stuff a long time ago.
You are the best math tutor on youtube as of today. I don't know about tomorrow but right now you are absolutely the best!. Wow!.
Thank you for giving the rules and examples to make this so clear. I'll look for more of your videos.
MR. Organic Chemistry Tutor, thank you for a mammoth analysis of the Properties of Exponents in Algebra 2. This video/Lecture is a powerful introduction to all high school and college students.
Sir perhaps you missed the topic list? this is your first video ive seen without it. You've been helpful to my learning and TL keeps me on track. Thanks to you really.

At 27:07 you say “one thing you could do” instead of “what you need to do” and it gave me a different answer. I didn’t make anything positive just worked it out as it was and I got 81 on top and 16 on the bottom

Thank you so much,I’m learning a lot 🙏😊my math subject brought me here🤣
mistake at 43:33 4^3 times 4^5 should be 4^8, right
Glad you have a nice voice. If not? Then I will never listen to you just kidding. Keep up the good work sir thank you for helping us
7:21 I thought when you flip a fraction the signs are switched so when you flipped 1/x^-4 to x^4, why wasn't the 1 on the bottom -1?
@marcschroter
2 жыл бұрын
If you made the 1 on the bottom -1, then the (x^4) on the top would have to become (-x^4) as well. Maybe think of it as 1^0. The sign of the exponent of the variable switches, the sign for x remains the same.
Amazing dude👌👌👌👌👌👌

Great videos. I've watched many videos from the Organic Chemistry Tutor and they're all great. I did find one more error in this video. At 52:50, 9/3 = 3
I think you may have made a mistake at 43:36. Instead of writing 4 to the eighth, you wrote 8 to the eighth.
YOUR THE BEST!!!!!!!
You are amazing I am only 10 years old and I have been searching for this the whole time thank you so much!!!!!

You’re learning this at 10-11 years old- how (simply curious not meant to be insultingly or anything)
I know this stuff already but I missed my unit exam and need a review, thanks :)
For people stuck on why 3 to the -3 power became a fraction. It's not -3 x -3 x -3 because it's not -3 to the 3rd power. So you basically turn it into a fraction to put 1 on top over the result of 3x3x3 positive so it's 1/27. 4 to the -4 power is 1/64 as another example
thanks for the videos
52:50 9 divide by 3 is 3, not 4 :D I love this video, thumbed up and subscribed! TY
Is (1/5)^-4 the same as 1/5^-4?
43:45 isn't it 4^8 not 8^8
