14.57 should be sq.rt. of x shd be taken as denominator and solve left hand side and you get 9/6 which becomes 3/2=6 sort. x Divide both side by 6 and you get 1/4=sq.rt.x so the answer is 1/16.

3:45 In Blitzer I see this rule : If X^(n/m)=A then, IF n IS EVEN, then, X= PLUS OR MINUS A^(m/n) In the equation that is solved here, n=2, so n is even. So (1) (x-4)^2/3=4 (2) (cube root of x-4) ^2 =4 (3) cube root of x-4 = plus or minus (square root of 4)=plus or minus 2 (4) (cube root of x-4)^3 = ( plus or minus 2)^3 = plus or minus 8 (5) x-4=plus or minus 8 (6) x = 12 or x= -4 Is this correct?

for the equation of sqrt(x+1) = 2x-13. Before you do anything else, you must condition it x+1 >= 0 and 2x-13 >=0 therefore solution must be greater than 13/2 = 7.5. once you get solution, you can immediately drop x=5.25 out, keep x=8

It’s like doing 2 digit multiplication. You multiply the ones and tens digit in one one number by the ones and tens digits it the other number 12^2 = 12*12 = (10+2)(10+2) = 100+20+20+4 = 144 The mistake that people make is like doing (10+2)^2 as 10^2+2^2=100+4=104 which as you know does not equal 144

I know this is an old video, but you didn't tell us WHY we're raising the second equation to the 3rd power, rather than to the 2nd power...! @2:14

Um because the operation has a cube root, it shows it right there on the left. There’s a root, and it’s to the third. Cube root. So inorder to cancel the root, you need to multiply both sides by the power of three.

10:37 shouldn't sqrt of 6.25 be ±2.5? Meaning answer can be +2.5 or - 2.5 So ±2.5 = -2.5 is correct...? Or is it only half correct or what
