Stephanie Jaworski of Joyofbaking.com demonstrates how to make a Simple Vanilla Cake. This is a recipe, along with the accompanying video, where I take a Simple Vanilla Cake and transform it into an elegant multi-layer cake. It is not a butter cake, it is a cake where the fat is in liquid form (oil). So you have a cake that is wonderfully moist and tender.

I agree
a little suggestion from a cake decorator, if you dip your tilted spatula in water before smoothing the cake you can get the layers as smooth looking as fondant. Another thing I like to do with this particular cream cheese frosting is that I will skip the sugar and often add a little extra flavoring like lemon, orange or my favorite almond. The less sweet frosting matched with the sweet cake I find to be far more flavorful and still incredibly rich. (I love doing the marscapone as well) I once added a few tablespoons of almond flour to my frosting and it was to die for.

This is the most best vanilla cake ever! I tried it and it was the best! Especially the cream cheese 😋 🤤
I made this cake today and it was delicious, moist and wow. My family enjoyed it. I used orange zest as the lemons here are mostly green. Thanks a lot for all your videos, they have really helped me with my baking. God bless you.
Dear Stephanie, Thank you! Your recipes turn out so fine even if I am trying it out for the first time, because of your detailed explanation and acurate measurements. I made simple vanilla cake on my dad's birthday, name is simple but it had an extraordinary taste. Lemon zests adds to it an amazing flavour! You know all the best combinations that blends together so well.! Thanks for sharing your recipes. Kind Regards, Archana.

Hi Stephany, this cake recipe saved my son´s b-day party. Thanks for your recipes. Regards, from Germany
This cake came out AMAZING. I added some lemon juice instead of zest to the sugar and used a whipped cream frosting and it will definitely be a staple in my house, especially because of the price of butter. Thank you!
Hello Stephanie, I love your site for many reasons and I have been watching you bake for some time now - just not taken the time to comment. I have made your recipes and they are wonderful. I have also learned techniques and tips from watching that I have incorporated into baking in general. I particularly appreciate the way you present things, so unpretentious and friendly - yet not too chatty, just keep to the method and suggest ways that I can make it my own and use equipment that I have on hand. You make baking very accessible and approachable, giving confidence. I hope you will never stop! Thank you!

I always end up printing out your recipes so I can try them. They are all so delicious. Thanks for making videos. You always have such handy tips that I would never think of. So watching your videos is like getting lessons I missed out from her. I hope you had wonderful Christmas holiday. Blessings to you and your family.

I love how there's no butter in this recipe, last year I made this with my cousins from thailand, and we frosted it with your buttercream frosting recipe! It was outstanding!! So soft, moist and it doesn't taste like cornbread, it actually tastes like those soft spongy vanilla cakes you get from the bakery! Thank you Stephanie for the great recipe
I love how Stephamie is such a great teacher and that she's not overly fussy with her baking.
Hi , Stephanie,,,I loved your latest cake recipe...and made it today for Valentines...I did 2 small heart shaped cakes and followed all your instructions, including the soaking syrup which is such a great idea....and I decorated it differently to suit the season of Valentine....I led the addition of Grand Marinier too....a B1G Thankyou ...
