I remember the first thing that Southgate said after the defeat to France was that “they knew they’ve just been in a game”. That sums him up perfectly to me, he has a valiant loser mentality

You just know 1000% if England win this, Southgate will get absolutely NO CREDIT whatsoever of England win it. They’ll just use the excuse.. “Well he should of won it with that squad anyway” Let’s be very clear.. We’ve had better squads than this in the past and we’ve done AWFUL.. We’ve had better managers than Southgate in the past and we’ve done AWFUL.. It’s about getting the right fit for the right team. If England win this, the credit goes to the players AND Gareth Southgate. With that being said, I don’t think England will win the tournament. Every time we play the top nations we seem to come up short.

There's scant recognition that there are 6 - 8 other world class teams that feel like they should be winning the tournament in the English media.

It will all fall apart as usual then we can sack Southgate and bring in Klopp

He did a decent job at Palace. He had to get rid of the club because he lost most his fortune through the banking crisis in 08, not because Palace were ran to the ground. Simon Jordan paved the way for the Palace we see now, an established Premier League club.
