You are missing the point, it's a City fan giving respect to a Man Utd and England legend. We are enemies on the field, not off.@@myaphextwin807
As a very old Toffee I have only respect and admiration for Sir Bobby. We are from a different generation and we had different values. R.I.P. Sir Bobby
Survived Munich. What he went through was terrifying. A legend and for me the best ever
Sir Bobby was the biggest icon ever in football, what a man, what a player , RIP Sir Bobby , always be remembered
My earliest football memory is watching Bobby Charlton’s scrapbook with my grandad and him telling me stories about the busby babes ❤️ Sir Bobby was there at Munich, Wembley for United and England, Barcelona and Moscow. The history of Manchester United in one man, there will never be a bigger legend 🔴⚫️⚪️
RIP gentle giant of the game. England's greatest ever footballer.
I'm not old enough to have seen full games of sir Bobby, but he is a true legend of Utd, and the sport itself. He always came across as a real gentleman, someone who held himself with such dignity and decency. He was doubtless an incredibly gifted footballer, but above all he just seemed like a good man. RIP Bobby (and Jack)
I.m 68yrs old… and been Blessed to see sir Bobby Charlton play football.. Heartbreaking news 💔💔 R.I.P. sir Bobby Charlton 💔💔🌹🌹🫡🫡
Met sir bobby away at Wigan in 2007 I was a 12 year old boy and he shook my hand and said it was great to see such a young lad so passionate about United we won the league that day great memory for me
Bobby's goal against Mexico is so iconic. Watching the Mexican keeper diving, not getting anywhere near it...then landing on the ground looking like he'd been knocked out by Mike Tyson! 😂
Sir Bobby Charlton is without a doubt one of the greatest footballers this country has ever produced. He had it all, left foot right foot he could do the lot. The world of football has lost a real great and anyone who loves the game will respect what a great man Sir Bobby Charlton was. God bless and RIP Sir Bobby 🙏🏽

To see a minute's silence at Barcelona last night tells you all you need to know (I'm not a UTD fan). that's where you realise who REAL football fans are.

I think what it also shows is how highly Sir Bobby is regarded across world football and not just in England and Manchester United. Most if not all football fans know of Sir Bobby and his incredible career. Great to see that recognition of it.
Never met the man but grew up watching and listening to him. He always seemed extremely approachable, very witty & generally a very nice man. Hearing the news at the weekend was like someone had punched me in the stomach. A real legend and a real loss to the game. Rest easy with the Babes.
I think it is true when you think of the word legend it's almost underselling Bobby, I think he is an immortal pillar of Manchester United and of English football. Not just for his footballing achievements for also the inspirational life he lived. Our most Cherished ever player. Rest in Peace ♥️♥️🙏🏻

Sir Bobby Manchester United Charlton what a man. RIP
My Norwegian grand dad watched Bobby Charlton play against Norway in Oslo in June 1966. That was only 2 weeks before the world cup. The result ended with a 6-1 win to England. Jimmy Greaves with a hat-trick.
“Charlton whispered because he didn’t need to roar” Just got me there, Simon.
Although his career ended just the year after I was born I never had the pleasure of seeing him play. Seen plenty of videos of him down the years which highlighted his greatness though. To me, Bobby Charlton transcended football and everybody loved him, an honest working class man who lived and fulfilled his dream playing football. Had to endure the horror of the Munich crash whereby a country lost a lot of its stars and whom were his friends and to come through that in the manner Bobby did was unbelievable. His humility and time for others was a mark of the man, he truly can be considered a great of the game. In a world now when ordinary run of the mill professionals are multi millionaires they will never have and more importantly could never buy the legacy players like Bobby Charlton, Bobby Moore, Jimmy Greaves left behind them or be truly loved and revered as they were!
Bobby one of the greatest players ever RIP ❤
The love for sir bobby in these comments from fans of all clubs is testament to the man and to the player Rip w’or bob
I so miss proper 'old-school'/real footballers: Zidane, Maldini, Raul, Nesta, Bergkamp etc. etc. Players who do ALL their talking on the pitch, all the time. Nowadays most are just part-time social media PR companies.
He is Man Utd's Messi. Perhaps not as naturally gifted as Best but still the best and most complete and iconic player of the club.

Rip sir bobby never will forget wat u done for are club true gentlemen rest in peace sir bobby 🙏
It's crazy if Bobby Charlton doesn't have a statue at Wembley he is the greatest English player no English player has got a world cup a balloon d or a European cup and just the story of his this man is an icon not just for united and England but football world he is like a pele maradona
Wonderful player and loved watching him. He was fantastic during the 1966 world cup which I watched all the matches on a small black and white TV when I was 12 years old. My mum bought me Bobby Charlton football boots (early merchandising) shortly afterwards. I always respect players who have humility with supreme skill which had.
Idolized Sir Bob all my life, my all time favourite player..
RIP LEGEND
Sir Bobby always said Duncan Edwards was the greatest footballer.
Bobby Charlton was a Tall big Legend he will be remembered for ever
The best player in the best England team . Says it all.
Bobby defined Man Utd and England. A good man.
We will never see the likes of Bobby charlton again. Bobby was truly a wonderful football and world class .
Have a look at the interview Johnny Giles gave about him in the past day or so. John was of course, a Utd player first, went over there when he was 14 and Bobby was 17, and John said Bobby was the best player he ever played with or against. And John became good pals with Bobby and told some great stories about him. The interview is on KZread.
RIp sir bobby. Forever Legend
Hi was my father's favourite footballer, my father who was a fruit seller in Naples saved up to come to Manchester to see him play live.
I would rather (and was looking forward, although very very sad) see talksports versi9n of coverage of the late great, Sir Bobby Charlton - than what the bbc covered all in a poor 5 minutes - over 2 nights. 😢 I am neither English or a man united fan - but rather a fan of true legends and real real footballing men, real historic footballers. Shame on the bbc and thank u talksport . RIP LEGEND, SIR BOBBY CHARLTON ❤🙏🏻✝️💙🇬🇧👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
They need to make a last dance style documentary about Bobby Charlton's full life story. Undoubtedly one of the all time legends of the game.
RIP Sir Bobby Charlton
What are you talking about, destined for greatness? He was great. Master of the long ball and he could do it. My dad’s favorite footballer of all time. My dad passed away recently, he was not a Man U fan but loved him 👏👏👏👏👏 Watch some of his goals. Master of the long ball. Smashing it in.
R.I.P. great man
Gentlemen, well said.❤
Get there safe Bobby ❤️
Sir Simon = Top LAD Proper Clobber 💯 Facts
My late grandfather from yugoslavia always told me the best player he ever saw was bobby charlton.
Bobby was from a time when we were just better people in this country……
Simon right about bobby being from a society long gone when people had manners the kind of manners most generations were brought up with but i am sorry to say this current generation of youths have zero manners probably wouldn't understand the word RIP sir bobby
Just simply Sir Bobby....
That’s an absolutely fantastic analogy to explain Sir Bobby’s quieter demeanour… “money talks and wealth whispers, Bobby Charlton whispered because he didn’t need to roar”
Simon not knowing Charlton already has a statue at old Trafford is embarrassing.

Can anyone find that martin o'neill goal??
Legend.
Tbh all these words dont do him justice. World Cup and Eurpean cup winner. Survived a plane crash. He Could hit a ball so hard, keepers couldnt even react in time, with a football that weighed a heck of a lot more than the current ones. I remember a teacher showing videos of this man, explaining how to cleanly hit a volley and he was THE example. No one else was interested once they saw him first.
Top 5 greats of all time easily
League Title, FA Cup, European Cup and World Cup medals. That's a very select club, with just a few members.
Surprised Simon didn't blame united fans for this one

Bobby had dementia and his health had been slowly declining for a while, while you are correct in identifying a very nefarious practice that is robbing many lives of both young and old lets not undermine the message by attaching it willynilly to every profile death (like they did attaching the C-word)
