I really love how these 3 cities all look different by the way, instead of earlier simcities where all your cities looked the same.
Is that your voice in this trailer, Tom Kane? Because it's awesome!😊
I'm sorry didn't notice that these were 2 different games until now. Thanks for being so nice about it.
Town at 0:48 is beautiful, great work, Maxis!
"Ta-Ta, Toto!" Lol, I didn't expect that.
Well the description says "the first four disasters of more to come", so there should be some more. I still can't get over all of the unused space between buildings.
Love how this trailer indirectly mocks the perfectionist and visual-oriented modders. XDD
This video is absolutely genius! Both interesting and funny. Is it almost February already? ;-)
Yes, you can choose random or only when you select one.
Random wildfires? Also can't wait for next upload :DDD
I am very excited about how the final version of SimCity will look like.
I know its not the final version yet but it would be awesome if u guys make the disaster aftermath more 'lifelike' like if a meteor strikes down, it would leave a big hole to the ground. Then we have to repair our city with that dent inside our city using our own creativity.
Love the sound effect when the skyscraper gets destroyed
If you by off a origin will you be able to update?
SimCity has been released for a long time now. I play it on facebook. Its really fun!
looks great! but i hope they have a DLC of more disasters! that would be cool! alien invasion? tidal wave if you're by water? in addition, flooding.....soo stoked for this game
Will there be old disasters from past simcity's, like the plane crash, riot, monster, floods, and hurricanes?
I saw a trailer on the Xbox so they're going to release it on the 360 right??? D;
Sorry didn't realize these were different games. Thanks for being so nice about it.
Are these maps bigger than in the actual game or does it only looks like so?
whats the song at the end
so, will they make expansion packs for simcity 5?
The subways were likely cut so that you can see your entire city in motion at once and get a feel for traffic flow. Elevated rail is probably still in the game, as seen in the promotional image. Let's not forget that they mentioned having more forms of transportation than ever before!
Got to say, i'm very impressed EA, you've not failed at making this trailer. Lets hope the same goes for the game.

Well…. let’s just say it didn’t.
SPOKANE, WA FTW!! Also, I sure as hell hope there are trees and foliage to fill some of the empty spaces around the city, cause there is a lot of grass just sitting around in these cities...
OMG I can't wait for this to game! This looks amazing.
YEs!!, finally, I was expecting randomly disaster since simcity 3000 :D great news!
If you really want to know check the shops via online on the days it might be coming out. Hope this helped you.
oh my god, you're so right! I mean, real cities aren't usually attacked by UFO's either! It's almost like this entire series is designed to be an abstraction of real-life in order to be fun! madness... MADNESS!
And what about Origin which this is going to be exclusive on?
You do realize this game has one of the most complex simulation engines ever created. There are people with great computers and people with bad computers. They have to bridge the gap. Creating such a complex engine required them to slightly cut down graphically I would assume (But I personally still think it looks great).
Look in the bottom right corner of the E3 video during the monster part
Give us the SimCity Gameplay Strategy Video #2! I can't keep watching the first one much longer.
On Twitter, one of the developers uploaded a short video of his kid making a tornado in Simcity, it's only for a split second, but you can see a disaster Icon for a Lizard Monster.
i believe the maps that you are talking about are A. the smallest maps in this game start out where the medium maps from the last game, or B. maybe statistically speaking was the average size maps that people chose from the last game.
beautiful trailer
I hail from Spokane, Washington as well. :p
26 awards in all the Simcity series... you know, since the 90´s
It took that long to cut the building with the laser?
are flash floods and drought an option?
I agree, but it needs to be configurable for those on lower end computers
This video looks awesome!
When do this come out ?
Simcity is a creativity/sandbox game and I think everybody should be able to play it in his own way, so I think their should be an option to turn them either on and off, personally, I love random disasters! Makes the game more challenging.
Idk if you've been answered or not yet, but by the looks of previous videos, riots have been popping up in front of the Mayor's building, probably just not labeled as a disaster anymore.
what does "not final software" means?
Minor upgrades to the desktop and I'll be ready for SimCity!
can we see more of the U.F.O?
Shout out to Spokane, Wa.
would be good to have a large variety
Yeah I noticed that too. I hope they add craters and rubble in the final game.
we live in boston so we lost power for four seconds and schools were paronoid so the closed for 2 days which was awesomeness and still had halloween due to it being super mild
Can you add better creative/ sandbox mode options? Raise happiness, upgrade buildings, reduce traffic, etc
It's been pushed back by a month. To get rid of any glitches and such. So it's coming out in March.
please more strategy guide videos!
To make it clear to EVERYONE, 2k by 2k is NOT 2km by 2km. where, 2k is meant as 2 thousand blocks wide by 2 thousand blocks tall. Each block is roughly 68 meters by 68 meters in size. It is measured this way because SC4 was built in a grid (each grid block is 68m by 68m) basis unlike the new simcity, you can can place anything without any regards to any grid. So please, do your research and listen carefully. And yes, 2k by 2k is roughly the size of a medium chunk is sc4. Do your math.
@SamPlane Usually you get a choice when to use them, like in simcity 4 they only came when you told them to
is the game available for mac?
because when i was playing on simcity 4 my I had no idea how to turn off the button
will be on June 11.
So example 1 is detroit?
If I coat my buildings with bitumen, will they be indestructible like the roads I see in this trailer?
wait it says coming February 2013 in the vedio and on the title it says march 2013 which one is it February or march
they only showed four in this preview
I think it they should include other disaster like, Grid Locks which could like affect traffic and building time. Another idea could be power cuts that stop manufacturing and so you loose money. They could include loads, just simple things that can have a big impact on the game. Oil Spills, Droughts, Wild fire, worker strikes, inflation etc.
Will this be on Steam?
how would there be offense?
Where is Giant Monster? It was in the E3 Trailer, why do they have to cut something that is already developed off?
MY CHILDHOOD GAME GETTING AWESOME ! KUDOS TO THE CREW
It says in the title and in every other video March 5, 2013
A very nice trailer
Some comments: 1) Can you turn the disasters off? Sure disasters are nice but I want them to occur when and how I want them to 2) Can I return to the old save prior to starting the disaster? In the trailer a tall skyscraper that looks like a mini Sears Tower gets blown away. In SC4 it is difficult to get tall skyscrapers or I need to pay through my nose to place a landmark in my city. I would be pissed to see it get destroyed due to a random event. 3) The 'Sears Tower' is too small.
I invite you to program that, i really do, in a world this size having everything break down into particles would fry even the most powerful of PCs.
please more strategy videos!
Like real life, disasters cant be turned off, but you can be prepared.
The game won't have any subways (They confirmed that during the livestream last tuesday). I don't know why because I loved them in earlier Simcity's, so I hope Maxis decides to put them back in.
atleast by the looks it shows the buildings falling apart and it is a step in the right direction.
AHAHA this is awesome. Reminds me of the Portal 2 commercials xD
SO FRIGGEN EXCITED!
yeah but how many disasters can there be after a while their effects would be similar.
the graphics look pretty damn good, with the exception of the industrial city, the textures for the factories look very simple. I'm also not a fan of the baseball field at 1:23. One last thing is the destruction of buildings, while it looks really cool, are somewhat lacking in detail. Other than that, this is looking very good.
Haha great video! Can't wait!!
Maxis said it's going to be PC/Mac even though it currently says PC on the prototype box.
I love the music
This is awesome!
I still don't get the idea of having medium maps xD MAKE BIGGER!!
This only shows four of the many disasters that'll be included in the game. You can see a giant dinosaur in one of the trailers.
Power cuts happen in every other Sim City. And Strikes. And Grid Locks. I doubt they'll be going anywhere
Apparently, UFO attacks are a lot more important to a realistic city simulation than proper transportation.
Couldn't agree more. They should look more on the building part instead of destroying. I wish they would make this a more serious building simulator and not a kids game
I love how video games can get 26 "awards" without even being out yet.
there should be an option for the disasters like in SC2000.
Awesome!
I want this game on steam.
Yep, also, going to wait till after pre-order to decide if going to purchase this game, at this stage it looks okay but it needs more SC4-esque stuffs.
I like how the buildings can snap in half and fall but will it crush other buildings and create more debris? You know realistic.
where's the next strategy video?
That was epic.....
I'm actually the happiest at this! I always loved randomness...
random disasters are in every sim game. Before disasters were announced people were complaining that there wernt any, you cant please everyone.
