Settlers 7 was DRM and it only ever caused an issue for me once so I would prefure it not to be there but DRM or not, I cant wait to get my hands on this game!

I like the fact that you can claim multiple areas for cities, but I would still prefer either bigger areas or the ability to have them actually joined. As in no space in between the squares, so that instead of having several cities in the region you could have one or two mega cities

I love how this game looks and plays from what i have seen so far but having an area for power without having to buy the land or something seems a bit... well... easy!!!

I heard mention of a map editor, I'd say you could up the size of the city through that, so there must be bigger city sizes! :)

In the case of SimCity, you have to be connected to play. This is only partially because of the DRM though. Your cities are saved on Maxis' servers, not your local machine (allowing you to load and play your city from different locations). Additionally, part of the simulation runs on their servers.

Also it may just be for the sake of the demo, but it seems a little too easy to get tall buildings. If you look at 5:46 you can see that the new 'power city' is comparatively tiny in size and scope and yet is a cluster of skyscrapers. One of the most satisfying parts of Sim City has always been putting in the hard work and planning necessary to turn suburbs into a city. I really hope this aspect isn't turned trivial.

Great, I'll probably fail my exams when this is released.

Most likely, they are only "land squares", so you would purchase many land blocks alongside each other and then connect them as one city. I'd certainly expect so!

The beta is awesome, shame they locked some items away but it is brilliant! the new graphics are great and the interfaces to display data is innovative :) however one problem is the small map area per city, but oh well allows people with less powered computers run it with ease

PART 2 And let me just add that even though they may have had the same thoughts I just raised about the empty green spaces (I don't know if they have, but they might, it's pretty obvious) and may fix it, it's good to raise the topic again and again anyway to try and make other people aware and push to have these things changed. If nobody says that there's anything wrong, the devs won't know whether or not it's a thing that really needs to be changed for the better of their game.

Interestingly it seems that only the UK Origin store prices are horrifically inflated. US prices are more sensible, as are prices from other retailers.

What is with all of those empty, green spaces inbetween those tall buildings? It just doesn't look right, why cant you fill them with a plaza terrain layer, concrete or parks to make it look more like a city?
