His technique is more adventurous than Bob Ross who studied under him. I love how Bill takes chances.

We are so blessed to have this amazing light in our lives! And how fitting to hear forever after! Energy is a cool thing, who is to say Bill isnt right here literally with each and everyone of us. What i know is this box we live in has fear in it which fear imposes great limits, just as Love imposes only Love and all that is good! Just like Bill is the creator of this beautiful Art so to are each and every one of us creators of our own realities. Don’t believe in fear it’s not what the universe/you are, you are Love so instead of creating the life of a victim “Fear” we create from Love and most literally create Heaven right here on Earth! Just like how Bill is living and the Earth is still his loving playground. I know i invite him over at least once per evening! So Blessed!!! 🎁♥️

Wow, I can't believe this guy is still around! He taught me to paint on PBS back in the early 80's. It's great to see him again. Although I stopped painting long ago, this really brought back some good memories.

This guy was incredible! He always took a bunch of time in the beginning of each episode having a lengthy and pleasant conversation with his viewers which bit into his limited painting time which concerned me that he wouldn't be able to finish, but then he gets to it and always SMASHES it! What a talent!

Yes, as a prisoner of war he painted many allied officers and their wives portraits. In all these TV demonstrations, the seemingly random way he lays down paint, whether palette knife or any size brushes, conceals the meticulously careful way he positions those tools and how delicately he crafts his movements on the canvass. This is someone who learnt their care through portraiture. Unlike Bob Ross, who through every TV painting, never got this level of control, and despite watching Bob for 20 years, never went beyond the basic shaping of things. I have been painting portraits pastels, oil, acrylic for 30 years now, I was an admirer of Bob Ross up until two weeks ago, until I discovered Bill Alexander then, and Bill's talent for painting and teaching is far above Bob Ross'. I say this, with a heavy heart since both of them are no longer with us, and the tragedy in the the way Bob died, in similar circumstances to my first wife (she was the one who drew my attention to Bob Ross on TV). Bill is the artist I would like to be.
