Very well done on the silver Simon. I am of that age that l remember using pre-decimal coinage! That sixpence was called a ''tanner'' when l was young! We had a song we used to sing: ''Rule two tanners, two tanners make a bob (shilling), King George never, never, never, shaved his n*b''!! Cheers, John.

That’s what I thought as well. Very beautiful. And to cut pieces that small, polish and set them back then would have made the cufflinks a bit pricey… I assume.

So very fun and interesting. I have bought my dad a detector and all the gear he needs to go out. It will be great exercise for him and of course fun finding things. Simon, I’m very impressed with your cuff link ,as a Goldsmith. I have seen numerous designs for cuff links over the decades. That one is quite unique as those spiky bits on side would help to hold the cuff in place instead of smoothly letting it ride around on the garment.

Around 17:40, that look like a broken piece of a door stop. It would be attached to the wall near the floor, with a pad in the end so your door doesn't slam open and crack the wall.

9:16 The track of a potentiometer/rheostat. The square attachment looks like the underside of a British Army officers shoulder pip. It would show (or show part of) his rank.

These were some great finds, in fine weather. I think your chunk of bronze may be part of a crude sort of statue fragment, I swear it is shaped like a head and face. I may just be seeing random cuts, but it seems to be symmetrical to me. Anyway, I hope there are more great finds in store for you. Cheers from Texas.

Looks like the new permission is going to yield some nice finds. Interesting video. I was wondering if what you are calling a a cuff link is not a gem (fob) that hangs from a pocket watch chain. The short length of chain would attach to the longer chain that runs from watch to pocket or buttonhole. The short chain does not look like the piece that would close a cuff link hole to me. Very nice piece of silver. Will be interested to see if that is glass or a gemstone of some sort. Always enjoy your videos.
