14:50 found an auction denoting it as a 1920's Sheffield Weekly Telegraph "Kind Hearted Brigade" Club Medal
Let’s go easy on Simon. I sense he responds & appreciates positive comments more so than jabs. Just an observation from afar. Love your channel….and Simons channel also. I watch both.

Your thought was right: "These intriguing coins were struck in the latter years of the Napoleonic Wars as the conflict led to financial instability in Britain and the mass hoarding of gold and silver coins. The Royal Mint could not keep up with demand for replacement currency and - as a temporary measure - began issuing tokens. First, in the form of countermarked Spanish coinage and later as these fascinating Bank Tokens which circulated as legal tender coinage."

@@HLBear I wonder if those inspired the "US Pattern Coins" that came out in the mid 1800's Those are beautiful coins and rare.

Thanks for joining me in the journey Sheila. What a day it was!! I could do with a few more like that, that’s for sure!!
Samuel Morse, a New York University professor of painting and sculpture, began working on his version of the telegraph in 1832. Morse was inspired to develop the telegraph after hearing about the discovery of the electromagnet while sailing home from Europe. He spent several years developing a prototype with the help of his partners, Leonard Gale and Alfred Vail. In 1837, Morse received a patent for his electromagnetic telegraph, which used a portarule with built-in dots and dashes. In 1838, Morse presented his invention to Congress, demonstrating how dots and dashes represented letters and numbers using Morse code.
So exciting! I've, literally, been on the edge of my seat for the last hour. Well done!
Hi John , what you thought could have been a cap badge I believe is part of a flattened oil lamp wick burner, that holds the glass chimney, likely Victorian

John a fantastic day cracking coins, it was a silver day, Simon is your lucky mascot thanks again cheers
Grape shot from a cannon? Great video as usual. I am spending my time hunting for mushrooms today. Shot a very nice turkey a few days ago. Also been digging bottles and arrowheads.
Your Chanel is amazing mate! I’m from Sweden and i just received my X Terra Pro a couple of days ago and yesterday I found my first silver coin 😊. It’s really nice and addictive hobby. A few years ago I went to Scotland and traveled around the country with car for a week and if I compare that trip with all other vacations I’ve done Scotland is at the top when it comes to hospitality and helpfulness. The people were really nice and kind. I literally thought that if people were like the Scott’s it would be world peace! Thanks for awesome uploads!
These are the days that keep you going. One for the books! Cheers, and ATB!

Congratulations on a SPECTACULAR treasure hunt!! WOW! I’m blown AWAY!!
Greetings from Pennsylvania USA. John I’m so happy for you. What a day . Love the bank token. Triple silver congratulations 🍾🎉.
What a day you certainly did have 🤩🤩🤩 amazing variety of finds and did people feed the birds with their coins in that field?! That bank token is a really beautiful and lucky find - worth a nice little amount but I guess as most detectorists do, you’ll keep it, I know I would 😍. Simon needs to get himself a Deus 2! Well done John and well done good old Deus 👏 Great to see you with Simon again. Enjoyed the light box and to see how the silver stands out.
Silver bank tokens were issued due to a coin shortage during Napoeonic wars. Nice find and pretty valuable.
When you said that you had good quality vid this time, at the beginning, I thought you meant the picture quality, because, your picture was of the most outstanding clarity throughout this video. No fade-in's from fuzzy focus as per usual, as you and most other vids do. The clarity was great, the contrast was great, the colour, and it was a beautiful bright day, that brought out all the features as well. Spot on lads.
Thank you so much for sharing from western Canada! I have enjoyed your speech as my ancestors came from Burgage, Buxton, Derbyshire and someday I would love to visit there someday❣️
Great sunday evening entertainment again..👍🧑🦯🏴

An amazing days dig John I cant believe the amount of coins you found along with the excellent 1/ 6d token and medallions. Very well done paI really enjoyed it, I'll now go and watch Simon's video of his side of the days event's 👍👍
Nice one lads, Simons videos are coming along well, both of you provide some great historical facts. Cheers lads.
Your Bank Token is in the Spink book as S-3771. It's a very nice find. Congratulations on a great day of detecting.
What a day! 👍
You got me excited with that hand cannon shot! I have used a handmade one as part of a medieval restoration group! We used to call them stick cannons, as they were stuck on the end of what felt like a long broomstick. You would place the end of the long stick against the ground when firing, affording no kickback (since the ground absorbed the shock). They certainly didn't have great aim, but made an impression with a big bang and whoosh sound!
Missed you Simon!!!
What a rewarding day.! 👏 👏👏15 coins, with triple silver.?! Get up .!! Terrific stuff buddy. Bless up 👊

Great finds John especially the George 3rd bank token … if I’m not mistaken that is worth a few quid .. this is the beginning of a fantastic period of finds for you John has I’ve predicted for you … well done keep them coming chap …
I found one that looked like that.round ball, mine was platinum, A melted lightning rod.I think, found where a old house stood.
You two are brilliant, best metal detecting channel ever Love to you both from Wales 🏴
Fantastic finds well done and thanks for sharing 🎉
Great days digging there John. I found a George III three shilling bank token 1811 a couple of years back. Unfortunately it had been nailed to a post and used for pistols target practice. The portrait was ruined but the reverse wasn't too bad.
Hi John and Simon😊
Fantastic!
Thanks for superimposing the image of coins that haven’t been ravaged by time in the dirt! it really helps us visualize the finds. Giving us a bit of history as context makes it even more fun. Good editing!
Wow John, what a day you had. Great finds! Thanks for sharing with us!

You had a fabulous day ! Love the George 3 token , here in Canada there was a severe shortage of small change in the 1820 's so bank tokens and merchant tokens were issued to fill the gap ( counterfeit tokens a.k.a. blacksmith tokens also produced ) . I have been fortunate to have found these but am still waiting for a silver one 😉 Well done John 👍

Man you thanks and best wishes. Clearly a global money shortage! Many thanks
That first coin looks like a William and Mary, based on the small offset bust on the right side
The 'Roman' coin seems the most exciting because if it were Vespasian it could be potentially be linked to the battle of Mons Graupius which is suspected to have been fought near Perth.
I think those Victorian picture hangers hooked onto the Picture Rail

Yes they did.
The Bank of England issued silver tokens of this type from 1811 to 1816, during the Napoleonic Wars, until recoinage in 1816. Worth three shillings, this example shows George III (1760-1820) in armour.
I have a couple of silver George III five pence bank tokens, both marked as Irish. I assumed the tokens were only issued in Ireland until I saw your video, so there's been a lot of learning for me in the last hour, very much helped by some of the comments here 👍
Very good finds. I watched the live stream after the fact because it was at 0300 in the morning here in Okinawa Japan when it was live...got to get my beauty sleep you know.
We are getting too much rain down this end of the country to get out with the detector. (Oxfordshire). Luckily we have your videos to watch. Thanks. Good viewing again.
