That big musketball is grapeshot. Its an artillery gun filled with lead balls so its like a big shotgun

The horse figurine is a wonderful little find. Imagine if it is indeed a toy giving a lead item to a child who will likely put it in their mouth. I'm glad we know better today.

hey simon! good to see youre feeling much better now! enjoyed your finds very much, and your commentary and humour carried the whole thing along nicely. so thank you. can i make a suggestion? the music is great that you edit in, but i think if you were to change it to some beautiful spanish guitar music instead, it would compliment you and your channel. and maybe john could end his with some bagpipes. you are getting better each time, keep going!

G'day Simon! I'm glad you found a few good items in your hunt, And yes! I agree, the horse was find of the day! At 30:31 An Australian detectorist I watch called the Coffee Bush Kid refers to them as "Rove and Rivet" and as you say, used for leather work. The tag with the large letters C and R in the centre, just to the right of those letters is what might be the small letter O. The large C And the small O might represent the word company or Co. More than likely I'm wrong, but it would be interesting to find out! I enjoyed the hunt and hope that next time you find more than you can carry in relics and coins. Cheers Mate!

I know John had great day but you hav'nt done so bed yourself you have a few nice interesting finds there especially the decorated lead items I'd be interested to know the origin of those if can find out and, I love the legless horse, well done Simon 👍👍

The large musket ball is probably what they called "grapeshot ". Shot from a cannon.

One thing to try with your mic is to put it a little further from your mouth. You have a nice and low voice, it can overwhelm the mic if it’s too close. Hope that helps! Love the channel and glad you’re feeling better!

Simon, it appears that John doesn't dig up as many farthings, or dupontisis's as he should be. Maybe he read the number on Dais 2 and doesn't dig them farthings up as much as he should. Dupontisis's, and sestergisis are roman brass coins.
