​​​@@D-E-F.2018 I think the context is that he is singing for his creator, Divide, who developed Sonic.Exe 2.0 at the time, where he designed this BF Faker and EXE/Faker, the bad thing about this is that he passed away before the release of Sonic v2. Exe and so BF Faker's legacy has been completely dismissed, but these lyrics to "Silly Billy" show us that Lookalike is singing to his creator, saying that he "got his way" and that he did what Divide wanted in the time before his death, which was the popularization of his character Yourself (BF Faker)

I think it's a double meaning

He seeks acknowledgment from his loved one who was taken from him. He seeks appreciation from the one who created him. He seeks validation from the version of him who hasn't fallen victim to so much grief. So many meanings and emotion in just 22 words. I love this mod.

I’ve suddenly became obsessed with this song it’s almost uncanny with how it just makes me feel…

Lore a bit: “Yourself” Is BF from a different universe, and in that universe bf lost gf. Bf tried to redeem her by going back in time, but sadly kept on failing over and over causing the damages over his body. Gf has actually been with him this entire time(the microphone) when he sings the lyrics if you listen closely you can hear a woman faintly singing and when he says: “Just Long-!” Girlfriends soul hugs/posses around him during the high note and you can hear the woman’s voice clearer there. Also other things I heard was that one of the devs or people that helped make this game sadly died in their sleep from fighting cancer. May god bless their soul, and hopefully they are proud that many people are loving and respecting their game. (Please tell me if I missed anything else)

Fun fact: when silly billy sings, he's actually talking to GF (who's dead in this mod), and you can see her ghost next to him at 0:20

A lot of people are trying to decide what or who these lyrics are directed to, some thinking it's his GF, others thinking Divide (rest in peace) and others thinking its to OG BF and I'm kind of liking that last one. Billy has seemingly been through a lot, possibly not even human anymore with how he can morph his body and how he contorts. His Girlfriend, supposedly having died, turned into the microphone he clutches onto so tightly. Her death could have been Billy's turning point, the grief he feels manifesting into the smokey apparition we see for but a few frames. Ghosts of his past possibly made him snap, and through being heart broken, committed horrible actions. That which we don't know what yet, but possibly all in a vain to make his manifested grief, Herself, happy. To make Yourself happy. Yourself, finding entry through a mirror, encounters an alternative universe version of himself, Boyfriend, who hasn't lost his love and is what Yourself could have been. The lyrics Yourself sings is a plead to the other, wanting validation from the man in the mirror for all the things he did for Herself, the horrid acts and that him becoming a monster is justified. But deep down, even if said, he knows it's not true. So after the verse, he looks down and (i might be looking at the art wrong) you can see what seems to be tears rolling down his face. No one is proud of him. He is merely Bf could become if he lost GF. Because at the end of the day... He is still *Yourself.*

I think the reason people like this lyrical part so much is because it speaks not to just BF, or Herself, or even Divided. But rather, all three. Yourself's lyrics seems to be directed to all of them since Yourself looks as BF, but seems to summon Herself's spirit to sing with Yourself, while the deeper meaning of it all is a tribute to Divided. Ofc I could be wrong, but that's my take on it.

The fact that Yourself is probably doing all of this just to summon Herself for a few seconds is saddening.

Sad fact: this was technically made by Divide (some people call him Divine) Divine was a modder/dev for sonic.exe. But one day, he died in his sleep from cancer. Apparently though, someone saw his sketch of this alternate boyfriend character, and made a whole mod about it. While the lyrics do reference girlfriend, it also references Divide and how If Divide was alive right now, he would be proud. And the stay awake part references how Divide died in his sleep, saying for him to stay awake to see what he had created.

If you put this song at 0.75 it sounds really, good try it for yourself.

i think the reason Yourself's hand stops shaking from "So stay, awake, just long enough to see" into "My way" is because you can see for a few frames the spirit of his version of GF embracing him one last time.

This is how i interpret the lyrics: "I'll make, You say, How proud, You are of me" - Refers that bf should be proud or have more self esteem to himself because he's not experiencing Yourself's situation, the following part explains why: "So stay, Awake, Just long enough to see, My way" - This means to Yourself wanting BF to be aware of the consequences (My way) or his situation that made gf die.

You can hear when Yourself and Herself sing together up until the first "my way". At the second "my way", you can only hear him. That hits different.

Bro I just got back into fnf and this is pure talent on whoever made this

2 fun facts about this song you didnt hear or see:the part where he says long the red stuff behind him is actully Gf's spirit hugging yourself.after the part where he says long if you listen closely you can hear Gf singing along side yourself in the part where he says Enough to see. If you dont bealive me about the spirit watch the video yourself in 0.25 speed

I have never played this game but right here makes me wana play it and this just hits so hard

The devs really wanted Divided be proud, the lyrics are directly sent to Divided, the fact the mod is receiving a lot of attention, yourself begs Divided to stay awake to see how far he has come, from the 4 songs of the mod, they don’t comprare to this one, this is a few of sadly deaths that made me feel bad for. The lyrics and effects on his voice are awesome but the posing of the animation really seals it as one of the greats

I LOVE how the lyrics actually have dedicated animations with lip sync, that's not something I see in Friday Night Funkin' mods with the exception of maybe Ultra M (And Jeffy in Jeffy's Endless Aethos actually)? I love the idea of putting extra effort into the mid-song animations just for lip sync though!!

lot of ways to take these lyrics, but a fun one is simply this clone wanting to prove it's worth to it's original, which is a badass concept, really. No matter how you look at it an evil double looking for validation is a fascinating concept. It should be explored in more horror stuff i think.
