Out of the thousands of mods that have been made, no mod has gotten closer to the fnf/phantoms art style than banbuds. Every other mod gets it super close sometimes but banbuds matched it PERFECTLY with his mods like tricky and hypno

Bruh hearing this as Classic FNF mods makes me feel a little old

When I first saw Garcello, I thought he was a bad guy from the amount of times I’ve seen all the people boyfriend sing against become evil. I didn’t know he was chill like that

Most of these mods ended up getting official ports with VS Whitty Definitive Edition and Hazy River. I will say these old mods have a particular vibe which lots of the new stuff doesn't quite match with some of these just feeling like official weeks or so ingrained into the legacy of the game they may as well be. I've got a small hope that the V-Slice Funkin' update will have mod support so we can see these a lot of these old mods brought up to the new standards and be made playable years from now to far later perhaps even when the full game is actually out.

Overhead is genuinely one of the only og songs that still sticks with me

the amount of respect i felt for Speedz when he called the change in Ballistic's instrumental's is INSANE but somehow he still didnt notice a chart that is several times better than the rest of the mod

Garcello holds a place in my favorite fnf mods. It was the first mod that (in my opinion), proved that a good mod doesn't need to have hard charting, i remember mods that were getting popular were all hard, and garcello hopped in and said: "yeah no, im chill". Just easy charting with really good music and a cool chill character, simple but very good. And also because i discovered atsuover through it, she makes hella good music, garcello being an example.

i first discovered fnf on twitter when week 6 came out, i started getting into it because of whitty (which i originally didn't know was a mod)

vs tricky was real good, one of my favorite classic mods out there

i think tricky pointing the middle finger was a reference to Newgrounds's madness combat games

FNF infecting my YT recommendations for several months, I ignored it because its just another cartoon rhythm game I won't like. Then a thumbnail appeared with Tricky in it, then I was like 'fine, I'll see what this game is about', found out it sounds unique and better than other rhythm games and the community was cranking out mods for it. That was a while ago, now we have things that sound as good as Vs Tree, Hotline 024, Trollge Files, Mario's Madness v2, and eventually One Shot Mania

One of my favorite details in the garcello mod is in nerves on his held animations you can see his hand shaking from the pain

i think its the fact that Whitty was the first ever fnf mod to be made which inspired others to make other modes for it because of how much traction Whitty got

A lot of people say that games like fnf dont compare to osu and guitar hero because of the lack on base game content, but the mods feel like a feature where you can make your own songs and share them its amazing holy!!!

Remember when they nerfed ballistic

I remember those days very well, as a fan of FNF on Android, I must admit that it was almost impossible to find the ported mods back then, and I had to watch the videos over and over again to feel like I was playing them, good memories. Then in Roblox the FNF fever started and that's where I experimented with mods and etc. And thanks to that I also got to know Osu Mania 4K more thoroughly. An incredible community removing the bad from it

Garcello hit me close to home because my dad used to smoke, he quit years before the mod came out but it brought back the memories of me worrying for him. Best mod purely for the feels and amazing music

26:07 Man, these songs are so nostalgic. During the pandemic, I used to listen to these non-stop, the Garcello songs being some of my favourites. I think I cried at the 4th Garcello song about 10 times in the months that I listened to it.

Atsuover's songs feel natural. They are fun to sing along to and not massive clusterfucks of noise like a lot of fnf mods.

A friend of mine compared Ballistic and Expurgation. He said that Expurgation was hard because of its gimmicks and how it distracts you, and that Ballistic is difficult because if forces you to always keep your hands on the notes, and is hard just on its own.

8:40 you might be getting it confused with Cackletta's Souls from Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga, she has a very similar design and did an attack that happened to use her middle finger. This was changed in the 3DS remake

2 unpopular mods that i really liked were VS DISPLO and VS PANDORA'S BOX. Pandora's box was one of the 1st mode to change your arrows.

tip for old mods with no options so you cant change keybinds: next best thing for what keys you should use is "🅰S⬆➡" a s (up key) (right key)

Honestly, the mod I'd have to pick is Vs Shaggy. Don't get me wrong, I love Tricky, Whitty and Garcello and those older mods a lot. But Scooby-Doo was a massive part of my childhood, and the full Shaggy mod has some amazing songs. Decent charting (debatable I know), and the addition of 6, 7 and 9 keys really changed up the gameplay drastically. I love the Shaggy mod so much!

I used to love the tricky mod and when I saw that it updated i was going crazy!!! It was incredible and truly still holds up as my favorite mod!
