Lore drop! Yourself/Lookalike is an alternate universe version of BF created by Divide who died (The cause of his death is still unknown). Yourself lost Herself (His GF) in an accident, after that he went into a deep depression and he stopped taking care of his body, making him look battered. What Yourself doesn't know, is that Herself's spirit is still alive, living inside of Yourself's microphone. The lyrics were directed to Herself (Lore-wise). Here's a theory: The reason Yourself could phase through the mirror is because of Herself (notice how the mic glowed red?). Anyways, the lyrics are also directed to Divide. That's all you need to know.

a lot of things needed to go right to get this as good as it is, timing since FNF is not a game where lyrics are common, the right VA with the correct energy, the character design from a beloved creator who passed away, the amazing animation work, a great song to get you into the mood, and the absolutely subtle lore bits that can be interpreted in a wide but easy to filter way so the community can create a consensus on it

I have a feeling that when yourself is singing the lyrics, he is imagining that bf is gf so he’s singing the herself version in his version to make her proud of him

@@watameloncatvr well, there is SOME misinformation. Divide died, allegedly, from cancer in his sleep. It is actually not confirmed how Divide died, so a definitive statement is impossible and anyone claiming one beyond "he died" would be spreading misinformation.

In the case of this rendition in Hit Single, it is Yourself. In, say, his scrapped appearances for things like the Sonic.exe v3.5 mod, it would have been Lookalike. Either way, the original design by Divide is named "Yourself". Nothing else. Lookalike is the name of the EXE version by Saster and Doorknob, and Mar's version is once again named "Yourself".
