I've used this mirror set up since 2019. Have over 5000 miles on it and it has never failed. Clean, functional sight lines and no vibration either. In my video from back then I used a 55 mm bolt which gives you 5 more millimeters of thread into the base of the mirror. That is the reason I had to source the bolt separately. 50mm is easier to find 60mm is too long but could be cut down. I also placed a washer under the button head to distribute the load on the plastic. I used a gel lubricant to coat the bolt head which prevented rust that happens quickly with the black hardware. The mirrors came with a rubber friction washer to put between the mirror base and the door. Water has not been an issue. More water will leak through the window seal than can come through the mirror hole. Using a step drill and coming in to finish the hole from both sides gives you a nice, clean, tapered hole in the plastic. 👍

In the note it says you changed to a 12mm threaded bolt from 10mm. Is that because Seizmik has changed the thread diameter since you installed the original mirrors. Thanks in advance!

Great video, thanks. I used a DrillBlock to insure a straight hole and a little rubberized rustproofing on the bare metal.

Watched your vidio was hesitant to do what you did .but I pulled the plug and went for it.got everything on eBay mirriors screws .so I'm going for it.thank you

Damn it… special ordered m12 x 50 bolts as per the link listed, drilled doors for them, then found out they’re too big for the M10 holes in the mirrors 🤨

By the way I called Seizmik support today and verified the bolt is an M10-1.5 on this 18081 set of mirrors. FYI!

Does the bolt just push all the was through or do you screw (thread) it through?

It will push through as long as you drill the hole out to the correct size.
