Sid Sriram On-stage performance at Aikya 2018 - Fundraising Carnatic concert

Aikya is an annual fundraiser concert which Global Adjustments Foundation has been putting together for 9 years now.
Aikya 2018 had the most invigorating music of well known and devotional songs that we have all been raised with praising Lord Rama. Rama here stands for the joy in our own heart. Songs that are being rendered range from Rama Nannu Brovara, Pibare Rama Rasam to popular bhajan Payoji Maine. The speciality of the concert is that it brings together amazing genres of music. Percussions that are exhilarating and a nadhaswaram, performed by a 19 year old nadhaswaram artiste are added to uplift the entire musical experience.
The show has music renderings by extremely talented Sid Sriram as well as the very young child prodigy of Rahul Vellal.

We thank Suhasini Maniratnam for presenting Aikya to the world. She is a national award winning actor and women’s activist also serves on the advisory board of Aikya.
Global Adjustments Foundation provides life coaching to maximise the emotional, physical and leadership skills of women. Over 40,000 women, including homepreneurs, IT workers, nurses, police, soldiers, students and teachers, have participated in our interactive workshops and benefitted from our modules.
As programs are run free of cost for participants, Global Adjustments Foundation depends on corporates and individuals to champion the movement.

Tyagaraja kritis are in telugu. There are compositiions in tamil sanskrit too composed by great connoseiurs in music.

Yes they are lucky since Seethama Sri Thygaraja's mother first learnt Karnataka music invented in Kannada by Sri Purandara Daasa in Kannada. All great compositions (E.g Jagadodaarana) first came in Kannada followed by Telagu, Sanskrit Tamil etc

Tyagaraja, Annamayya are telugu. But many Telugu people not much interested with Carnatic music which is sad.

our great saints like Sri Thyagaraja, Purandara Dasa and other greats used music as media to spread the Bhakti Marga with devotional compositions, so language and learning the meanings of the kritis are also important. Music enhances the beauty of the kriti.

I always felt sad that I'm not a telugu man since I can't understand telugu kritis of Thyagaraja. But proud that Thyagaraja was born in my tamilnadu. I wonder whether the modern telugu people feel proud about Thyagaraja and understand his value.

We surely do. Unfortunately, we don't have marghazhi music festival kind of events to display our interest/love in Tyagaraja 's compositions. But we always feel elated when we hear his compositions. Because he is the one who made us question ourselves, " nidhi sukhama ramuni sannidhi sukhama".

@@narmada2205 He was born at Thiruvarur and brought up at Thiruvaiyaaru, both in the erstwhile Thanjavur district on the banks of River Kaveri. He never crossed the boundaries of Tamilnadu. Yes. He visited Thirupathi, which was also a part of TN only; Tamil Nadu boundaries were described as ''Venkatam mudal Kumari varai'' which means ''from Thirupathi to Kanyakumari''. Of course, we are now extremely happy that Thirupathi became a part of AP. Politicians of TN are decoits, Scoundrels, and Rascals, atheists to the core, who loot temple properties and treasures. I'm sure they would have constructed a secret underground path from Thirupathi hundi to their house. Thirupathy would have been looted by the DMK and ADMK politicians. Knowing this beforehand, Perumal preferred to go to AP; telugu people are really sane, and honest and at least do not put their hands on temple money.
