Just dropping by to say to anyone considering buying this.. This bass library *as you can already hear* sounds fantastic. I use it every day and it's an indispensable tool for me when songwriting and recording. Many thanks to the team at Impact Soundworks for consistently putting out quality products.

Shreddage picked bass?

Props for doing a 5 stringer, most libraries when doing a p-bass go the typical 4 string route.

I'm going for this. I got Komplete 13 UCE with like 4 different basses, but there is a huge BUT. Only one is recorded palm muted, but as a different instrument. So you have to have 2 tracks, one use for fingerpicking and second for palm muting. Also only one was recorded slapped but the same way, so need of 2 tracks. There simply is not a Bass you could record whole tracks including slap and PM. They sound good, but they lack techniques. I am going for the whole Shreddage 3 collection because all of them sound great and are useful for different genres.

Where is the tremolo on the keyswitches ?

I downloaded and tested the Free P Bass version and noticed unless playing softly, you hear an attack string scratchy timbre that I would prefer that attack scratch to be a little softer. Is that baked into the sample itself or can you turn that attack noise down with a setting? I know it's part of the character but on certain tracks, say under dialog for TV work, it would be nice to have volume control over the string scratch that starts each onset of each note when played above a soft dynamic. Perhaps the Full version has this feature.

When we edit samples, we usually leave in about 30ms of attack time to account for finger noise, since it usually adds realism. But you can adjust the "Global Offset" on the main page, or from the TACT page.

WAIT.... I was listening to this as I was going through your bundles... Is there no shreddage Guitar Bundle and/or Bas Bundle?

Any with Archtop, Precision, and Pedal Steel? I am looking to venture into Country / Bluegrass actually.

I've got Abyss and my problem is when I use wide variety low and high tones it changes tone for some reason. Especially when I use slides

The tone will change based on where on the neck you're playing, just like a real bass. You can change performance settings on the front page, for example the "Hand Position" knob, to set playing to the lower or upper part of the neck.

I don't get it: It has "thre different kinds of sustain articulations". Where do you select any of those?

On the Articulations tab :) You'll see Sustain (Fingered), Sustain (Picked) and Sustain (Slapped) which can be mapped however you'd like.

Aside from the section with the tone snapshots, it's all clean/DI!

I tried the demo & found some of the notes to be glitchy, making it unusable. Some of the round robins for low A glitch out when they cycle through & every note on the fifth string is the same. Disabling anti-repetition helps but the issue is still present. I tried it on two computers with the same result. I want to buy this because otherwise it sounds great & I really like the interface. Maybe some samples were corrupted during the download? Not sure. Anyone else encountered these issues?

If you're having issues with Kontakt and Logic, be sure to update to the latest version of Kontakt (6.2). They've been fixing bugs with Logic for the last few versions, and 6.2 should fix the last of them.

@@ImpactSoundworksLLC Is that version half a week old then? Because I'm still waiting on a response from Impact's helpdesk. I checked for Kontakt updates only a few days ago, there were none for my version 6.1.1. I LOVE the sound and playability of your guitars, but both Stratus and Archtop (and, famously, Super Audio Cart) corrupts every logic file it has a track in. Eliminating specifically these instruments always solves the issue, and no other VST anywhere in the project. So it's an Impact Soundworks issue and a very, very disturbing one.

@@Nicdehouwer Yes, 6.2 just came out on 11/14. This same issue persists across many Kontakt libraries (not just ours). Check it out and let us know how it goes - you should get a reply from our support shortly, the weekend always slows things down.

However, I really have to say, (as I told the man from support) have 3TB full of libraries, I use about 50 of them constantly, and I NEVER have the freeze issue except when one of the three instruments mentioned is involved. I have done countless tests, it's only those three. And I have products from nearly all (big) VST manufacturers. If I had this issue with multiple companies' products, I wouldn't be addressing you guys specifically. But again, thanks for the advice, I will check and do some testing once I get home.
