Nice video. I love my EarthWay for planting sweet corn. Use seed plate #22 that comes with the seeder, and tape off every other hole on the seed plate, using electrical tape.

no nonsense video.... thanks! Glad I found this... I was feeling an upsale on another video, although I like this person for his experience. Great run down on equipment!

I purchased an Earthway about two weeks ago because I found it in a thrift store for $15.00 - no plates. Ordered a new set of plates, from eathway, so I am into it for about $60. We have a little hobby garden, so that is more than sufficient for our needs. But I will keep looking for a Jang at the thrifts and fleas, too!

For many of us with large hobby gardens or small market gardens the Earthway seeder works just fine. I feel you need a really large garden or farm to justify a $500~ seeder. There are also a couple of other similar design seeders for under $150.

When I heard there was a less expensive seeder, I got really excited. Now I see why the cost is so different 😅 siiigh. I guess I’ll be getting a Jang.

Hey there! Thanks for the info. So on the Jang seeder are there bean and corn and cucumber drums/rollers available for that? Thanks

We actually made this video 2 years ago and are just posting it now. So the prices may vary.

you can't adjsut seed depth with the Jang ! Strangely enough in these videos this issue is never mentionned. The Earthway is much better in that regard

Ive been pleased with my earthway! But the smallest seed I plant is okra.

I tried to plant okra yesterday and my earthway kept failing. The seed kept going behind the seed metering plate and jamming. I was only planting about 120 feet so i just manually planted. Did I do something wrong? or is the earthway simply flimsy plastic crap?

@@chainsaw5524 It needs to be clean, No broken seeds and the seed plate needs to be completely seated. Also with the okra seeds being so round it is easy for a seed to roll under the plate. Also Id say, that I have to lean it to the right to keep the plate covered in seed, especially when it gets low in seed. I hate to call it a cheap peace of plastic, but it is low budget.

@@bamatractor Thanks, for your reply. Sorry, but I was verry frustrated. It worked good for sweet corn, but the okra... My seed was clean and round. I will take another look at it and see if I did something wrong. Again. Thanks.
