Great video as always. I agonised for months over the bike or bike+. I opted for the bike+ and absolutely love it. As I plan on having this piece of equipment for years, I just felt the newer model was the smarter purchase. As you say though, either way you will get a good workout and break a sweat which is the main thing.

well articulated presentation. Just ordered the original Peloton Bike. Couldn't afford the Bike Plus without robbing a bank and this video has been a relief, that my choice was not far off☺

Great video! Really good in depth comparison. I ordered a Bike+ back in late 2020 when lead times were ridiculous (ours took 4mo to get to us), but was lucky enough to get a loan of a regular Bike while we waited (friend had one in their holiday home not in use). I have to say, knowing what I know about the WatchLink gizmo, as well as the screen swivel bracket, now, I'd easily have settled for the Bike over the Bike+; more so now that here in the USA the price difference is $1000! I just cannot see where the 'upgrades' to the Bike+ equal a full grand--I'm not all that fussed by Auto Follow resistance (which doesn't work in live rides), and the speakers and screen size are just nice to haves, but really not necessary...perhaps if the screen was a 4K monitor and not just 1080p, I'd think twice about the $1000 premium However, I don't regret for a second buying the Bike+, it really is a great piece of exercise equipment which I thoroughly love to use

I already have my peloton, bought my pivot and watch link thanks to you and still keep coming back because you’re videos are so well done and interesting!

Great video - covered all the bases ! I agree, if you're going to be an avid rider, go with the Plus, but if you're just a casual rider and want to save some money, then go with the regular bike ! Personally, I love the plus with the auto resistance follow ( which does NOT work on live classes ) the bigger screen, sound bar and swivel, which I use for weight and yoga classes. Thanks again !

Bike essentials package with 3 lb weights = 1,645 $100 promo credit from a referral So = $1,545 plus tax. Free shipping and set up. Bike+ starter is the most realistic comparison and that’s $2,720. $1100 difference.

I initially wanted to get it but decided to get a cheap bike just to get the feel of it (since you know, the bike is not that cheap). Got the regular bike and should be arriving next week. I love my Bike+ and can’t imagine not having the “auto-follow” feature. It lets me focus more on the music verses having to pay attention to what the instructor is saying. Thanks for your videos! They are always informative and entertaining! If I lived in the UK I’d love to buy you beer! 😁

Which one did you choose

Just bought a second hand + bike for less than the normal is new. And it’s hardly used. A lot of fitness gear gets sold on hardly used. So shop careful and get yourself a bargain. Love the +. Biggest plus being the sound bar which has super good quality sound and bass. Also the auto resistance is amazing. Just focus on the cadence and that’s it. It also looks much better.

Received the bike and was able to place it together in less than 30 minutes. Great bike for a great price!

Great video thanks. I'm like you and would always go for the newer version. I do think it will future proof the investment. Got a question for you now, I have a spin bike which I bought in 2020 as the gyms were all shut. I paid £1600 for it, its self generating, premium feel, smooth and well built. It can't connect to anything and the data it shows on the consol is only on the consol. I'm greatly motivated by stats. I wear a galaxy watch 4 to track my Peloton app workouts. I was wondering if you thought I should stick to what I have or sell it and invest in a Peloton? Thanks in advance ☺️

The Bike+ is at least 30% harder!! After riding the standard bike for 3 months, I decided to upgrade and was not able to come close to my previous output!! It was like cycling through mud!! I called Peloton support to find out if I was doing something wrong! Then I found out from online communities that the calibration is different on both bikes; the resistance on the Bike+ is higher. Phew. I love the swivel screen, auto-follow and sound tho..no regrets :)

I dont have any of these bikes nor do i plan on buying any of the home gym experiment. I am here just to see what else can you imagine to do a review on :D

Great info, can I just add a desktop touch screen computer to the Palatine bike?

I got a standard bike that was only used twice for $700 and then ordered the swivel adapter for $44. Also if I want a gen 3 screen I can just buy it for $500. At the moment I don't need it. I'm a tech and work in cyber so this definitely isn't worth the extra money. Also the biggest difference between Bluetooth 5.0 and previous iterations of Bluetooth is the maximum range. While Bluetooth 4.0 and later supported a range of up to 10 meters, or 33 feet, Bluetooth 5.0 steps that up to a theoretical range of 243 meters, or 800 feet.

Looking into buying a plus now for $900…. Or I can find a cheaper standard. Decisions decisions.

I ordered the regular bike, currently in Canada the regular peloton bike goes for $1570 while the peloton+ goes for $2895. I don't think that sort of difference is worth it.

It's also worth mentioning that the bike+ has free shipping and setup, but (in Canada at least) the shipping and installation of the standard bike is $350. That cuts the cost difference by a solid 35%

You live in Germany? Love Germany, we went on holiday most years there, Berlin is my favourite city, Trier and Koln were great, husband went to Munich and the surrounding areas and loved it. We love our Bike +. How is Brexit impacting you (or were you sensible enough to get citizenship?). Have to say I’m glad I moved to Canada.

My son just bought me the Peloton + and I am excited. Great info and review. I am 70 and can’t wait to use the stretching and yoga videos and start easy stuff with the bike. I formerly did spinning 4-5 days a week. It is very addictive.

I think I got lucky when I bought my bike, the original. I got the original on sale for $1,245.00. It came with shoes, mat, and weights, plus they put it together. At the time of me writing this, the original bike $1,445.00 with none of the things I got or putting it together. I don't think any these bikes should be this much plus subscriptions. This is the American price.

Is the auto follow feature on the Peloton plus compatable with the basic app or do you have to upgrade to the all inclusive program

How much do i have to pay for the subscription after i buy the base model bike?

Hi Steve, I’ve got a tight space 140cm will a bike+ fit? If I lose the weight holders and don’t spin the screen I assume 140cm is enough? Website and support telling me 149cm minimum…but what’s the real minimum length?

Does anyone know if you can use the Peloton original bike with resistance manually without the monitor installed? I love the bike design but don't want to pay or use the monitor.

Just to make sure I understood correctly, the standard bike has no auto-follow resistance features. Does the plus have auto-follow for scenic rides?

Hi, hope you don't mind me asking for an opinion! I would absolutely love a peloton bike, I've a young family and going to the gym around work and family life is tricky sometimes- and the gym has stopped spin classes 😱 My question is- I've seen a 2nd hand peloton bike, 8 months old for sale. I'm tempted to buy 2nd hand? Is there any reason not to buy a bike 2nd hand? I could stretch to buying it and paying monthly for the app would feel way more affordable. It's such an expensive purchase- but I'd love it. Any thoughts on buying 2nd hand and maybe questions to ask the seller? Thanks so much

If the seller is genuine, then should be fine. The bike would still be in warranty (for the seller) so hopefully they would have had any problems addressed. You’d need the full subscription for the bike at 39 a month.
