should i specialize after dental school?
Hey everyone! Dentistry is an incredible field. There are so many different paths you can take after school, and specializing is one (or 12?) of them. Other than money (because let's face it, money IS important when you're ~$300k in debt), there are a few things to consider. Let me know if I missed anything by commenting below! As always, awesome video! Thanks for your thought process on specializing. I think it makes a lot of sense to start out, master the fundamentals. And get your feet under you, and then if you so choose… specialize. That being said. Wow. It’s a long road. Thanks so much!

Yeah, as hard as it may be to go back to school after being in practice (and making $$$) for a few years, but ultimately that can be the best way to figure it out. We had a faculty member that was in private practice for ~8 years before specializing because they felt like they wanted to learn more!
Do you intend on specializing? If so which one?

Great question! I had thought about specializing and doing perio but at this point I've decided not to. The nice thing is I can still change my mind after working for a couple of years!
