Be successful
Have an interview in 2 weeks. Thanks a lot brother
I love your beard and eyes. My kind of guy. Don't shave your head. Let your hair grow out. You have great genes with your red hair.
I finally passed my DAT exam after all the stress.I thank God for the great opportunity and my tutor Thomas 🎊🎊🎉🎉 All my prayers to those struggling to pass through DAT cause it hasn't been easy.I hope y'all make it some day too Amen🙏
I failed 3 times, i lost money to reviews that never helped but the major thing is that I've not lost hope
i'm sorry for your plight my friend but i was once in your shoes before i was recommended to Mr Thomas and thats how i passed DAT
I had interest in working with him but I was discouraged by my friends out of ignorance 😔
Sometimes hard work doesn’t pay you have to back it up with smartness🤓, I think your cousin understood that perfectly
Please does anyone know who this Mr Thomas is? I really need to speak with him I’m frustrated.
Dental school requires so much hand skills. Didactics are not difficult to pass. The only difficult part is practicals. If you don’t enjoy and like these practicals then you really are in a miserable situation.
Hey Connor, I watched this video months again to try. to mimic the materials you used. I received a 22 on the DAT as well. Thank you for this video!
Where can I find the associated anki cards for mental dental vids?
You are amazing, thank you!!
You are inspiration in my life thank you so much God blessed you !!!!
Thanks for the video was super well put together and nicely paced, just got accepted into dental school starting in a few months, cant wait
How would you make wrong answers in the kahoots? I feel like I would remember which answers were wrong bc I made the question and eliminate those instead of remembering the correct answer which wouldn’t help for tests.
thanks so much! this is something i was really anxious about
Thank you so much!! This is a video that i was looking for!
Where did you get this hoodie?!
Hello! Thank you so much for your videos! I am looking at dental schools to apply to, and was wondering how you liked Rosemans??
Is it the same when it comes to Canada dental schools? If not, how can I find out what the passing mark is for dental school. Thank you
Super helpful!
This is GOLD. thank you. Saving it.
thank you for this great video
Passed my DAT and has 2 months left of DAT Bootcamp. Let me know if you’re interested😊
im interested!
I just realized I'm really lazy... LOL
Please make the kahoot tutorial! Would be greatly appreciated!
Do reps recommend lower Magnification to new naive students because they know students will eventually want higher magnification forcing them to buy new loupes from them? And what are some red flags from reps and companies I should look for when buying loupes?
The loupes companies are all pretty similar as far as how their reps are. They want you to buy their product. That being said, the reps I've worked with were all pretty good at letting me look at their display pairs, try things on, go back and forth, and really try to guess what I thought would be good for me. At this point I would highly recommend a pair of ergonomic loupes. Many companies have them, but they will be great for your posture and help reduce pain. For normal loupes, I would recommend at least 3.5x, and if you're doing ergo loupes, I'd go even higher since your working distance will be different. Ask some of your upper classmen that are close to your same height to try on their loupes to get a better idea of what something is like. I hope these ramblings make sense. Feel free to reach out to me on instagram @doctor.henderson if you have more questions about loupes.
Thank you so much for this! I'm in my late 30s and fell into sales at a young age and have made a career out of it. Something at the back of my mind has always told me I was doing the wrong thing and I've changed industries a few times to try and find the right fit. Unfortunately, after I learn a new role the feeling of being on the wrong path raises its head again. I know I have a very difficult conversation to have with my family, but your video has only strengthened my conviction that I need to pursue a career in dentistry. Thank you again.
That isn't an easy thing, but I wish you the best in your journey! Let me know if there are any other questions you have!
Thanks for the video dr
The DAT is $526 now😭 this is ridiculous
Just wait until you get to spend another $3100 (or more) for your licensure exams in dental school! Not to mention whatever boards is!
I never knew that, why is it si expensive@@connorhenderson5396
Oh my god? His is awesome
I’d say I’m changing careers, but I’ve never really had a career. I got a masters in Urban planning after I failed to get into dental school, and I’ve spent the past 15 years trying to work in that field, but I still get rejected for entry level jobs due to lack of experience. I really regret not sticking with Plan A.
great video thanks a lot keep posting new content
Awesome video! great info I was just wondering what your personal experience is like in Roseman? This 3 year program definitely has mixed reviews of pros and cons on the internet. I wanted to know about this school anything you can share? Thanks!
Overall I had a good experience in school! I really enjoyed and succeeded with the block curriculum. While I know there are things that I didn't get much (or any) experience with in dental school, I feel confident in my ability to do the basics of dentistry. Could you get a better clinical experience at another school? Absolutely. Are there cheaper schools? Yep. But based on my personal situation, Roseman was a good fit. That being said, the 3 year program will be a HUGE adjustment, and those students will be missing out on 800 or so clinical hours compared to those of us who were in the 4 year program. But, as I'm sure you know, its one less year of loans and interest accumulating, one more year of a salary, and if you really felt unprepared, you could go and do an AEGD/GRP and gain experience and confidence in more advanced procedures. Let me know if you have any more specific questions, I'm here to help!
2:27 whoops
Congratulations 🤩🥂 waw
Thank you! Are you a dental student?
Everything about dentistry is so expensive 😢
It really really is! Are you in dental school?
Not yet I’m preparing for the DAT
@@Marvellous-grace Good luck preparing for the DAT!
@@connorhenderson5396 thanks 🙏🏽
Hey the full exam is about how much?
I think for all parts/sections it is $3100, and then maybe some more if your school charges a facilities fee (maybe $500), then add in practice teeth (another couple hundred depending on how many you get).
You are absolutely amazing. Everything I need to know (or ask) is summarized in such a short and easy to understand video. Thank you so much Henderson ^^
Hey this is such a great video thank you!
Thank you so much! Please share it with all your pre-dental friends!
I'm in Ghana and has informal dental experience. I wish to come to America to learn more about dentistry
best of luck in your journey , i ve been wartching all your videos and you are a great encouragement to me in my journey as well ,
Thanks so much Andrew, I appreciate that! Where are you at in your journey to become a dentist?
@@connorhenderson5396 i m American. But got my degree in egypt - now i m to take the inbde yet in april , to apply for advanced program hopefully , what about you ?
congratulations
I just got waitlisted to Roseman 😭. Studying to retake the DAT since it’s expiring , thank you for your advice
Thank you so much for the information! I’m wondering are all the questions include clinical cases or are there any general/basic science questions?
you are the first person ive ever heard suggest kahoot. this seems like a brilliant idea tbh. i would love to see how you sped the process up, i would think its really time consuming to make
A big part of it was just the repetition of writing thousands of questions. I got to the point where I could write 4-5 different types of questions about 1 thing so I more or less just became a machine. But I'll think about doing a video with a couple of tips to help out. You're the first person who has expressed any interest, so thank you!
@@connorhenderson5396 I would like to hear more about using Kahoot too. I am a junior pre-dental student and so far I have used Anki. I've done the same thing where I create 4-5 questions on each topic, but it still takes a long time (and I am not even creating answer choices as you do with Kahoot). Anyways, I would love to hear any tips that you have that help to speed up the process. Keep up the great work--I just found your channel and it is super helpful. Blessings, Jake
the Booster is not free. They let you see about 3 questions and then they lock the rest of the questions and ask you to join for $200.
Thanks for that! I'm not sure if that changed since now they are gaining more users or if that's always how it was but this is great to know!
Hi! Thank you for the video. For the biology section, would it be fine to just study with online resources (like DAT Bootcamp) before even taking a bio course? I am planning to do a post-bacc as a non-traditional; I didn't take any science courses while I was in an undergrad program so setting up a course schedule is crucial for me. (taking chem first/bio first/etc.)
I'm sure it could and has been done, but it would be a really big undertaking. That being said, you know what you're strengths, weaknesses are and your determination so it could be done. Understand that it would be really hard but possible. Then again, I'm just some stranger on the internet trying to help. Good luck! Let me know if you have any other questions!
For me, handwritten notes are paramount! With so much material for each class, I use the course objective to guide my note content. :)
Course objectives are great to help guide your notes and studying! I was just too lazy and wanted to avoid hand cramps so I didn’t do hand written but for some people that’s the only way they can take notes.
So helpful! Thanks!
Hello. I thought UOP’s 3-year program was part of the 3+3 program which high school students apply, not undergrads? I could be wrong
I think UoP does have a 3+3 program but even if you do undergrad somewhere else, UoP’s dental program is 3 years.
@@connorhenderson5396 I have been knowing UoP offered only 3+3 (more selective joint program), 3+4, and regular 4-year dmd program. Good to know! Is this a sign that due to the changed format of the board exam (from two separate ones into one integrated which focuses on clinical rather than detail oriented questions), dental schools deem it okay to shorten the program because the exam has become, maybe, easier?
@@user-fh7lc4ix5s From what I know, UoP has been 3 years for a really long time (if not always?). I don't think it has anything to do with boards. One of our deans used to be at UoP and I think was a big fan of the 3 year program, which is why Roseman has switched. I don't think many, if any, schools will follow and switch to 3 years.
@@connorhenderson5396 Thank you for your response…I was wondering if the 3-year program was like a trend thing due to the boards, but I guess not. But it brings up a question: wouldnt all predents want to apply to Roseman and UoP then? Its shorter (possibly cheaper).
@Z Malek I believe 3-year programs have similar tuition as 4-year programs, and thus the only upside is finishing one year earlier. Are 3-year programs more rigorous then? I believe it is natural to assume it is, but I want to know if in fact it really is.
What were you ranging score-wise when it came to bootcamp/ practice questions in general? I am taking my test in about a month and a half and i am testing at like low to mid 60s, and its making me freak out. I know the test is scored differently not just raw score, but i feel like i should be higher. :/
I don't remember a score from bootcamp, but I think from board vitals my score was 77%, which was after seeing the questions multiple times. I've known students that were scoring similar to you and passed. Don't be too surprised if you don't feel great when you take your exam. I didn't but it all worked out. Good luck!
@@connorhenderson5396 OK awesome thank you so much! you made me feel a lot better!
Where did you buy your shirt? looks nice!
Thanks!!! I got it at my school! It was a fundraiser that was done.
Great video Connor!
Thanks! Did you apply this cycle?
Great questions!
Thanks! Any you'd add???
