Good evening Wes, "I would have not have" (or had after have always past participle or verb-3 ) "I would have not have finished the project without your help". I don't understand why you chose this phrase "would have not had" instead of using have. Thank you in advance for clarifying and for your valuable time, kind efforts and contribution to assist in our learning.

Hey! Wouldn't it be easier lake this? Ex: I wouldn't (have been) late for work. Instead of : I would ( have not have been ) late for work.

That's a typo. It should read the way I said it, which is what you wrote --> I would not have been late for work. 👍

There’s pretty heated discussion over “would not have...” vs “would have not...” usage in conditionals. Can someone explain the difference?

It's still confusing for me using would have and could have because there are so many possible answers. And using could have sounds more natural to me, like... I could have gave him a ride. Using would have would be bit tricky for me and incomprehensible.

I should have planned my day in advance. I should not have checked the news so often. I should not have eaten so much chocolate. I could have watched this movie before. I had not had an English speaking partner therefore I could not have practiced my speaking skills. I would have learned about the process , but I spent time doing something different. I would not have known you without his recommendation to contact you . If I had not made a cake, I would not have made a surprise for you.
