I remember shooting this gun when I was 13 in my backyard. It's my favorite shotgun I've ever used.

You don't have to press the button to load the feed ramp when you have one in the chamber. The trigger activates that button so after taking your first shot, the feed ramp will load in time to chamber the next shell.

You may be able to increase your capacity by 1 shell if you "ghost load" - first fill the mag tube, then put a shell under the bolt on the lifter, then put a shell in the chamber. My M1 Super 90 was a later model that required a small amount of material to be removed from the bolt carrier to allow the lifter to be lowered with the bolt to the rear.

6 in tube plus 1 in chamber and 1 on the carrier totals 8 2-3/4 shells and that's all it will hold. Never seen one hold more, I have the restricted Mil / Leo version and 8 is the max. Even installed a special follower that was designed to give a little more room in the tube but it still won't hold more than 6 in the magazine. There may be some shells that are shorter than others but not anything I'd actually use. Benelli is a little optimistic with their specs, claiming 7 in the mag. Like to know what shells they are referring to.

@@kstangent 7 federal 2 3/4 1oz slugs will fit, but I've had other 2 3/4 shells I could only fit six in.

After firing the M4 it will be the last shotgun I will ever buy for bear protection here in Alaska. I did add a aluminum follower in the magazine tube and a cylinder choke. I use Brennke Original Slugs and Leupold Delta Pro on American Defense Detachable mount. It’s with me in camp and while dressing moose.

Once you have a round in the chamber theres no need to load one to the carrier by hitting the bolt catch before shooting. Just shoot and the shotgun will do the rest.

If you're editing the footage after in FCPX or Premier choose dual mono setting and it will have the same audio coming from left and right channel. :)

great vid...any probs with B&t handrail..i just installed mine but ive seen some old threads where it caused the ring on barrel to come off..that the part where the front of the rail sits in the ring attaced on barrrel. how many rounds have you shot with your handrail...thank you in advance

Just came across your channel, great content! I just recently purchased a benelli M4 myself in Alberta. This answered my question on capacity, as I ordered the S&j hardware tube and was worried about the “law” but I guess if it fits five 3 inch shells and six 2 3/4 we are still good in Canada?

Blazkowicz 1911 hey buddy, you bet. It’s like using 40sw mags in a 9mm. Just because they fit doesn’t mean you can’t use them. As long as they are limited to the legal max number of the intended cartridge, you’re good to go. In this case, I believe the m4 is “chambered” in 3”, but can also run 2.75”. Therefore get a 5.9 cap tube attached to a receiver that’s intended for 3” and you’re good to go. If it was chambered for 3.5” we’d be ever luckier.

Watch out for QC issues. Saw someone had their ejector pin get pushed back and it seized up the gun.

They are about the same price as new. Plus the demand has increased. You never really lose money on a quality firearm unless it is stolen or unregistered.

My set up is B&T hand guard, like yours, i have tge Trijicon 3.25 red dot, the carlson breacher choke and i have the sling . But i purchased the mesa side saddle but when i try to put the B&T hand guard back on the hand guard will not go back all the way with the mesa side saddle
