So stock our V2 made 134hp on the dyno and after the exhaust, filter and flash it made 133hp on the dyno. Considering this exhaust costs $6500 plus tax and installation that is a bit depressing...regardless it does sound way better and it still shaved 20lbs so its not all bad. Not sure if we missed something here? Let me know your thoughts in the comments below...

The V2 makes 155 hp at the crank, at that rpm your talking about 12.5% losses and that puts it at about 134 hp at the wheel so the numbers are good. The problem is the full system added nothing and at $ 6,500 it is clearly not worth it. Shit happens albeit disappointing in this case. @@clubstyleridahd4695

I have been remapping my 1200 multi (2013) for about 4 years now. Let me specify that. I have, without any measurement devices (dyno etc..) created, essentially from scratch, a set of fuel maps. I have done this using a lengthy and very painful process of finding the optimal curve through experimentation. Yeah, yeah, I know all the specialists will say this can't be done. All I can say is you should try my bike. I have learned a lot in the last 4 years (just over 120 experimental maps in that time). One of the things I have learned is that the engine responds to very, very specific fueling at every throttle % and rpm. The fueling has to be within less that 1% of optimal for the engine to start responding in an ideal way. My engine now runs smoothly and happily from about 1700 rpm, and will roll on smoothly from that point up. Torque is phenomenal all the way up the rev range. Here's a reasonably quantifiable example of what I have achieved. The 1250gs on paper produces 135 Nm, which is 10 Nm more than my bike. The other day I ran across 3 of these, and they wanted to play. I found that I could stay with them with absolute ease anywhere through the rev range - at lower rpm (from 3000 up) I could quite easily pull away from them. As soon as the revs went up to 5000 or higher, it was like they started applying brakes instead of throttle. A lot of the time (especially at higher revs) I wasn't even using full throttle. I don't think I ever went over 7000 rpm. It was a lot of fun, and no doubt very frustrating for those 3 guys. Another comparison. I also own a 2018 multi (the 1260). Because it has a different ECU, I can't use my fuel map. The difference in torque between my 1200 and the 1260 is nothing less than staggering - anything below 5000 rpm the 1260 is way, way slower than my 1200 in any gear. (I guess I have to mention that the 1260 produces more power than my 1200 from about 7500 rpm); What I am trying to say is that producing an optimal fuel map for a ducati twin is not trivial and not obvious. If the fuel map is off by 1% or more, the bike simply will not run properly. I have looked at many commercial ducati fuel maps - with the experience that I have gained, every single one I have seen looks badly wrong, not even close to an optimal map. Most of them violate even the most basic principles I have found to be sacrosanct when crafting a map. If you can extract the fuel map you were provided, I would be happy to comment - there may be simple things you could try that could provide a better result.

@JaretCampisi - I have a V2 Bayliss with the full titanium Akrapovic exhaust system, but I used a Woolich ECU flash and full Dyno Tune, my results increased significantly (148RWHP). I'd suggest that maybe the Dyno was out of spec, as even with the exhaust system, you should still have some gains there. Otherwise, the UpMap either wasn't for that bike, or had corrupt files.

I just got the full system termignoni exhaust on my monster 937 plus and the result was absolutely amazing in sound and performance but that only cost €2,500. There is no way I would consider paying that much money on upgrading the exhaust on my 2022 Bayliss even if it gave it 150bph because that's just pure robbery especially when the stock system is super loud and looks pretty good too.

Sometimes it's hard to beat the factory stuff. The Manufacturer's do a lot of tuning to get the factory power out of these bikes that they produce. The sound definitely improved. But cost return on investment, not good. I know every bike that I have put a full header system on has lost some bottom end.

I also think the stock exhausts are beautiful and most of the HP gain is from the filter that comes with aftermarket pipes and the map and the decat. But that's just imho coming into the bike world from race car world.

If Christina decides to get back on a street bike, that Scrambler is obviously the best choice. Look how the scale and size is proportioned just right for her size. Also, less weight than other Ducatis, but most importantly: tall and wide bars! That's the best way for a newer rider to learn how to countersteer, not by starting out with clip ons.

Gonna be honest with you Jared the bike has “break in” period for a reason. It’s a mandatory calibration for the rotating assembly to adjust evenly to make power more efficiently. Flashing a tune on a power unit that hasn’t been broken in more than likely wasn’t the greatest thing for it either. The likelihood of a $6500 exhaust causing the bike to make less hp? Not very. I have an arrow slip on, on mine after break in was complied with made 13hp+ with a Bren tune up map. I’d send the info to Bren see if they can help out

Noticed that you only have 320 miles. Did the "break in" service get done? If not, maybe something is intervening and limiting power? Or maybe it just needs to adapt as you suggested. Dyno graph shows some losses in multiple rpm ranges. I'm sure you will get it sorted...then maybe a redo at the dyno 🙂

Yeah that doesn't seem right. Even if peak numbers were not better I would expect more power across most of the torque curve. I know some dyno's you can set it to correct for temperature changes and maybe it was related to that vs he first time IDK. I imagine the upmap is on the conservative side, but still should be better than stock. It would of been good to know the air fuel ratio ( I didn't see that unless I missed it) to make sure it isn't way off causing the low power numbers.

I have the 1299S and out the full Akrapovic system on it with the upmap. I took it to the dyno and got 179 BHP. The technician said it was running incredibly rich. He then remapped it (6 hour process), and re-dynoed it and got 209 BHP. That was 3 years ago and the bike is still running perfectly so it’s reliable. The upmaps aren’t worth the memory stick. Get it remapped by a professional and reap the true benefits!

The clutch is hard to get right. Last month my rear break starting seizing with my Rizoma pegs, so that almost killed me while driving! Gotta fix that before next year. My Akrapovic is like yours. Just a clue- no SBK race team is using underbelly exhaust, it´s just for aesthetics(ugly).Needs a lot more pipe for hp increase.

Should make about 145-155hp after a full system and air filter. Something isn’t right with yours. My Bayliss was transformed after a full termi system and P8 filter with tune.

The v2 engine makes 155hp.. not to the wheel. what you're saying is impossible unless they do engine upgrades lol

I thought so too until it was dyno’d at 155whp at Cube Performance, a Ducati specialists who run the Ducati Australian Superbike Team here in Australia. The dyno could be inaccurate though as it seems too high but who knows?

Having a full system doesn't necessarily make more power. Aftermarket systems are lighter, but some slip-ons result in more power on the dyno. Chris Moore and Brock Davidson proved that.

The only reason why you didn’t get higher numbers on the dyno is because it was done in 4th gear. Take it back to the dyno and ask them to due a 5th gear pull. BT-Moto does pulls in 5th gear this is why he gets higher numbers. I bet if he would do it in 4th gear he would have similar results.

I thought 4th gear was the universal gear used because it has a 1 to 1 ratio?

its always the case buddy :) your usa tuners are 99% autotuners, copy paste handhelds noncence flashing etc. . suggest u find normal tuner and do it on dyno cistum tune individual cylinder tune. On V engines its mandatory. All other tuning is waste of time and money

Why is it people are so consumed wirh hp figures? Torque is as important. Putting those aside more importantly is the A/R. What is that throughout the rpm range? If you were on top of these things you could answer your own question!

  • @dmartin23
    @dmartin236 ай бұрын

you haven't done the break in miles. The oil also needs changed after 600 miles to the correct viscosity. No wonder your dyno results are out, you haven't even broken in the motor. Ducati also advised that you don't rev the bike past 7k for the first 600 miles.
