SIngle most improved performance part i ever had on bike, well it's the second . (Rider training/improvement always was/is, will be the first. ) As for single best sport bike mod.....twenty years experience, amazingly survived muppet squid years, street bikes/track bikes ,aftermarket parts is....wait for it, proper adjustable rear sets,!! for way more confidence and ability turning. over pipes/flash,gearing etc, for me, it was rear-sets! hoodathunk!

ive been riding streetbikes for over 33 years now and have more than a few different bikes. my current ride is a 2019 zx14r with a few tasteful mods. zero gravity touring windshield, 1" bar risers, billet levers, cruise control, roaring toyz lowering links, adjustable center stand, adjustable kickstand, tail tidy tag bracket, EBC HH brake pads front and rear, K&N air filter, Delkevic 18" oval slip-ons (also have 9" ovals), Moore Maifia tuned ecu. at 52 i see me riding for alot longer.

The frame slider thing also depends a lot on the crash, if you lay her down in a parking lot the frame sliders will save your fearings (that's what I usually thought of when thinking about frame sliders) but in a high speed crash it could be more beneficial for the fearings to absorb the impact instead of frame sliders directly giving it to the frame (as you mentioned).

100%. For me it's about some low speed nonsense happening or dropping it. If I'm crashing at 80mph+ the bike will be the least of my concerns. Went in to get gas on a windy day and my shit blew over. Sliders saved my farings.

I’ve crashed multiple times at the track. What I’ve learned is slower lowsides frame sliders save me a lot of work and protect. What I’ve also noticed is in higher speeds it destroys the front of the fairings and gravel traps cartwheel your bikes with frame sliders. They absolutely destroyed my bike.

Yeah those air filters require maintenance most people are not willing to do. I'm glad you brought that up. Seems like a lot of youtubers go filter just for content.

I'd recommend the frame sliders unless you're planning to ride really fast. Because they are more likely to save your bike from drops, but on long slides it could cause your bike to flip (don't @ me on that, might also not happen just a luck thing). I wouldn't get levers unless you really can't ride with the stock ones yet, maybe after a year in or two you could. Because the chances that you drop your bike early on is way higher than later on (depending on how you ride), and if you get new fancy levers throw the bike down you kinda wasted money. Maybe put the money aside on your next set of tires. Tires from 2019 are (they say, 7 years) good for another 3 years unless they're already worn down.

Maybe also look out for what type of slider you get, one which has the ability to bend when crashing is better than one which is stiffly mounted to the frame. Because the impact will either directly go into the frame or get absorbed by the sliders construction.

Frame sliders are great and will protect your investment but the levers are usually tacky and have a lot of play in them.

Years ago they tested 10 airfilters on a tuned supra. So it needed air... There was only 1 filter that performed better than stock without letting more filth in, it was the apexi. All the rest made really minor hp inprovements or even hp loss while filtering was worse. The oem filters are really good

This is super basic, but some take it as granted. I love this type of content, keep it up!

I’ve got a tip for the frame sliders. Take a look at the bolts that are used! Go for some bolts that can break off quite easily, this way in a slide the sliders can do it’s job and if it gets caught on something it will simply break off instead of cracking the frame. Crashed my bike twice so far, one time with a low sider and once a highsider. The frame slider saved my expensive exhaust and some plastics. With my other crash the framslider got caught and broke off and ruined some plastics but luckily not the frame!

the down side to this is that vibrations can break this bolts and then you are stuck with a broken Bolt in your frame . if you do this dont put any lock tite ( specially red) believe me i know this...

@@Mohapi_Tau on top of the bolts ( manufacturer) puts the rating of the bolt . check the ones that comes with the parts usually via Internet and get something similar . if the arent like the guy above suggests just dont put red lock tite . in my case the bolt holding the slider broke flush to the frame ( with red lock tite, because i never anticipated that those were to break due to vibration) i thought my S1000 rr 2020 was totalled , because the bolt was in the engine but inside of the bike frame with red tite. so it took bolt extractors and welding in parts that you dont want to weld but have no options. .... although i see the benefit of sliders so thats that

I was chatting with a race/parts shop owner on a KTM forum and they said the main thing with sliders is where they are mounted. If they use the engine mounts they will be good, but if they don't there's a much higher chance of you bending/damaging the frame.

This is the first real video i watched from this man, everything else was just shorts i ran into occasionally. I just have to say that i like the slow pace he has when giving out his advice, he is talking to the viewer as someone would in a real conversation between ordinary people not as some flashy youtuber screaming in the camera trying too hard to be interesting. 10/10

Great info and I second everything you said. In Cali you want that smoke windscreen cause after bike night you don't want the dark windscreen. Just dial the suspension in if your a street/ track guy.

I've got highsider montanas on my bike. They feel insanely good but vibrate abit, could be because I'm too dumb at mounting them and forgot the rubber absorbers tho. 60bucks per piece in case you're interested.

The thing about race Fuel is you also lose power unless your bike is tuned properly for the high octane fuel

You are correct the timing needs to be advanced carefully or the flame from race gas will be smaller and weaker it can also cause soot to form internally.

Unless you have a 20-24 s1000rr that has a closed loop o2 system and it tunes itself can also put a full exhuast without a tune only need a tun to rid the restrictions

That first fact about the Muffler protecting the bike. My 2020 Ninja 400 was dropped doing 100km/h (62 Mp/h) and Adobo's comment Couldn't be more true. It took literally the entire impact and snapped my Muffler bracket and absolutely obliterated my muffler, scratched my ferring a little bit but the rest was absolutely fine and nothing but the muffler needed changing.

Great video, couple points; Bar ends are just as useless. We only put those on to be legal, Vibrations are the issue. Even a smoother 4 banger vibrates enough that unless you're putting around at 2k rpm, theyre useless you shoulder check on the road anyway, especially on a bike so you really don't need mirrors unless you wanna wilfully neglect those red and blues. Double bubble; Unless you're full tuck it's worse. the wind is directed into your face with a double bubble. If you're only racing it or making quick canyon runs sure go for it, double bubble on the highway is awful unless you have a very short torso.

The thing that I definitely wouldn't wanna miss on any bike are heated grips - it's such a game changer. Got a Set of Daytona grips on my CB650R and I can ride that thing down to negative 5 C. On highest setting those things probably blast off enough heat to make a decent cup of coffee xD

I literally went to honda today to test a cbr650r, but they're out of stock for this year at the dealer lol. Testing the cb650r next week. Was also considering getting the bike with the Honda heated grips. Ignoring that I've never ridden one and don't know how they ride, I just don't know if I could live with the red bike. I'm more a black everything person, but the blue on the tank is too much, and since it's painted it's a pain in the ass to remove). I don't understand why Honda offers a black edition on their cb650r but not on the cbr650r..

My dude could you do something for me if you still have the stock plate holder. There are two screws under the arm of the plate holder holding onto some extra "wings" on the back (two on each side). Are the "wings" removable in the way that you have the thin long plate holder arm, and then the rest of the bulk at the back where the signals are?

I've had a 2007 R1 since new...and for a few months now, I've been doing some in depth maintenance of it. I'd fitted the bike with a Yoshimura stainless 3/4 system...that's the dual, tri-oval mufflers and Y-pipe...about 12 years ago. I've had the whole system off recently to replace the header bolts, clean it, etc....and, interestingly, the headers are titanium, too. I cleaned and weighed them( no corrosion at all ), and they were only 1.33kg. The exhaust manifold...the section that holds the EXUP valve...appears to be the same metal as well. There's nothing in the workshop or owners manuals about what metals were used( only that the stock mufflers were titanium skinned ), but, Yamaha didn't go cheap on the stock exhaust back then.

The 07 has an annoying design flaw in the stator area. There’s a freakin hole where you’ll drop cush drives into. The hole leads to the oil pan. One day when your stator goes out, you’ll understand this struggle 😂. I owned an 07, 09, 15, and 15 r1m

I know the pain. My stator lunched itself a few years ago....I keep the old one on the garage shelf to remind me...but, fortunately, no damage was done to anything else. I even found a little piece of stator magnet stuck to a steel coolant pipe just last week whilst replacing all the O-rings in there. Crazy..😏

On the BMW S1000RR you don’t need to empty your tank to run MR2. They are the only one that got the memo.

sliders will save a heap of damage from the bike being knocked over in a car park or stationary dropped which is probably more common than higher speed crashes. I've personally had a bike knocked over and the R&G sliders saved me a heap of fairing damage, the only damage from the bike falling on its side was the slider (which was just rashed, still good to use) and the brake pedal.

Great points I never thought about using my race filter on the street all the time. Definitely agree on frame sliders depending on the bike & frame

In case of frame sliders i would prefer something that has multiple mounting points than one that has single bolt to hold on to frame. I am not expert or any but that's what i think.

Good info!

Frame sliders are such a debate because crashes are so unpredictable. Long sliders are good for garage tip overs, but will send your bike for a tumble at speed. The short sliders are practically useless unless you low side with some good speed, although less likely. Or having none just means nothing to get caught on, so could be less or could be more damage. 1 thing that will save your bike are those fat exhaust haha. The ZX-6R can lay on its side without touching the plastics because of it. :P

As a composite engineer I can tell you that yes a carbon exhaust will degrade faster then titanium. But it will definitely be lighter. Good video though :)

I mean usually the only carbon you get on those is the sleve over the pot where as the steel or titanium one probably don't require any, I don't think you save alot of weight there.

The high flow air filter is defo a bad choice if you like keeping your bike for a long time, high flow filters are really ment for racing where the engine gets rebuilt anyway

I can definitely see out of my 10 dollar mirror lol just as good as my more expensive carbon fiber mirrors on my other bike. The thing with the windshields I wish I knew about the tinting before I bought my first one lol I ended up getting a light smoked one as I like to tuck in a lot, it's comfortable laying on the tank

you don't need high octane on a little bike unless you're on a 50cc scooter which is at redline 24/7

CRG makes quality stuff. But a lot of people buy their bar ends instead of rizoma thinking CRG is cheaper but they don't realize you have to buy a separate bar end cap that's grooved for a CRG bar end. Rizoma's equivalent to the lane splitter comes with/are already built into the end cap.

Learning this wants me to change my SC proj exhaust asap. 😂

I crashed my bike at the track doing about 170km/h. My frame sliders saved the bike, only had to replace my back brake pedal and a bar end. I on the other hand had a broken collar bone. I don't think frame sliders will work in all situations, but I use them.

I just purchased a Spark Grid-O full system titanium exhaust for my 2020 yamaha r6. What are your thoughts on spark?

Actually getting my very first bike, hopefully, tomorrow. 2023 Z400. I only plan on keeping it for a couple of years while I get skills and confidence riding around on it. I'm in WI so it won't be a year round thing. The only real Mods I plan on doing are a TST integrated sequential tail light in smoke, TST elite adjustable fender eliminator, Adjustable levers (haven't decided on brand yet, not cheapos tho), spools for stands, and New Rage Cycles z900 front turn signals.

Just try the stock out couple weeks or months before put on the mods, this way will save u some money on unnecessary mods. Try out some of the mods on your buddy bikes if they have one too, see if u gonna like it especially the brake/clutch levers. I restore back to stock lever after 2 weeks of put shorty levers on, it was pain riding in traffic with fingers getting 6 packs and can't feel anything when arrive at home

Prices are jacked up around me and dealers are charging stupid fees. I'm probably going to wait till fall or next spring to buy something I really want.

its pretty basic for a high flow vs stock in terms of filtering the dust there is a simple idea when using high flow on a dusty road never go full throttle cuz your sucking dust inside your airbox and those small thing can damage your engine

Man ! Exhausts 😳 I've just had a nightmare with an old steel framed cbr600 that I've bought as a daily rider, it had a lovely stainless set of headers on it, unfortunately it had a flat spot in the mid range,after 6 weeks of friggin about with it (I can now pull off strip and rebuild the carbs in my sleep) it turns out the aftermarket headers did not have balance pipes between 1&2 and 3&4 , back pressure resonance waves and all kind of Voodoo stuff , got some oe headers and Bingo ! Flat spot gone

100% on everything he says. Suspension mods transform a bike too. I have installed hyper pro street boxes on my vfr and my hayabusa. Handling is amazing and a lot better loaded or 2 up.

I've heard you want frame sliders that are a lot seeker than your frame so they help with the slide but break if you got something to avoid bending the frame 🤷

The Moto gadget bar end mirrors are high polished metal…I think aluminum but I can’t remember. But I watched a video of them making there mirrors and they are amazing. I have a set and they are strong and high end.

Recently picked up a 2015 fz09. Brakes don’t feel too great and I thought it was just in my head. Has about 9k on it so gonna say those are the stock pads being dog shit. Glad you enlightened me.

Larger rear sprocket, velocity stacks, and tank pads are quick and cheap upgrades.

ngl i kinda wish i got frame sliders when i first got my bike only because my fairings have seen better days. lost traction in a turn and had a lowside and now the whole left side of my bike is scratched up. thankfully i know a guy who has a spray booth so i can always fix and refinish them lmao

I run 100 octane but my bike is tuned for it and it is a track only bike never thought about the fuel lines but you make a good point and something I’ll definitely check

dude, 100 octane fuel is not race fuel. it's the "premium" product in EU. 93 US is like 98 RON but, at least in Greece, the premium fuel is 100 RON. Race fuel is 104 RON and up but the reason it fucks up fuel lines is that race fuel is not pure gasoline, it has other additives like lead. Leaded fuel and alcohol blends though can be corrosive. If you're talking about pump 100 octane then you shouldn't be worry, that's pure gasoline, it's not gonna corrode anything. Also, you don't need to "tune" for 100 octane, you need to tune to bring your AFR back into shape. If your bike is rated for at least 91 octane, it means you need to put in 91 or higher, you can freely put 100 octane in it, you don't need to tune for it.

@@Thewinnerscircle_ RON means research octane number. I live in Europe. Here 100 RON gasoline is 100 octane. In the US they aren't even using actual octane ratings, they use AKI and call it octane.

The best mod you should do is hire a professional to tune your ecm to your style of riding after your mods, exhaust, intake, headers or gear changes. Race fuel is useless unless your ecm is tuned for it. Exhaust is useless unless your ecm is tuned for it. High flow air intake filter is useless if you don’t know how to oil it and your ecm is not tuned for it. Have fun.
