Ahem. She talked about her 'Marxist phase'. She perhaps was confused, because she failed to see the word one answer to 'Are you a Marxist now?' was 'No', then the declaration 'I am not now....nor have ever been...' as follow up. She demonstrated excellent legal knowledge. What more do you want? After years of watching presentations to Congress which would not get so-called 'judges' a busdriver's job, she made a refreshing change.

This was a student most likely doing interviews for an assignment. If you were told I’m collect data research for an assignment and need to do some interviews for my assignment. That is not something you would assume to be a publish article about yourself. That’s not justifying statements that were made. “Marxist phase” is weird but I’m sure the questioning would shed a lot more light on the questions. People can have a phase and not be one. You know I was in my punk rock phase. Meaning I listened to that music not that I was a musician. Or maybe I dressed in a certain way or acted a certain way that was “punk rocky” by your own opinion. This is a political grand standing by politicians. Don’t get rapped up in this drivel. It’s to adjudicate a judge. The fact of the matter is their past rulings and predicalation to rule unbiased and a political. Even if they do then it’s not viewed that way. This has DEI on it for sure but what their jobs are to do is to either confirm the lesser of the evils for a Biden submission or delay. These statements and questions are to convince their fellow senators or keep their constituents happy by stirring up the pot. Your comments prove they are doing it well. I’m just sad you guys get sucked into so easy. I’m not saying that Judge should be confirmed. I’m just laughing at you all for getting all fired up for nothing. Especially when there is actual real stuff that’s twenty times worse and everyone just ignores it, hahahaha. Yes I know the federal judges shape our future legal system and don’t think it’s not important. However this isn’t a major decision that should be made immediately that others could be made by those of the legislature. Typical grand standing. Good on his performance and always a gentleman. That is not sarcasm by the way.

The whole thing when they say: "Thank you senator the question." is not a form of respect. It is a deliberate tactic to take up time. I always love when a witness is told to stop doing it. For those who do not understand it is not a politeness thing, each member only has a set amount of time to question a nominee. That few seconds they burn on saying "thank you for your question" counts against that clock, same reason they will cut off a witness if they are being evasive with answers. But this candidate, DuBose, was respectful, direct in her answers and gave a reasonable account of herself which left Kennedy's assessment of her applicability to the job irrelevant. Kennedy further embarrassed himself when reminded that his own political views have changed, that political opinions he once held in one degree or another he has repudiated, and failed to allow this in DuBose assumedly on the grounds that her (alleged) politics are so egregious as to prevent such fair consideration. I am surprised at the Senator's hypocrisy.
