SHINZEN's PANDEMIC STRATEGIES

In this June 2020 dharma talk, Shinzen speaks of how, in his lifetime, he has seen the impossible happen - especially in terms of our relationship to meditation.
Then he lists and speaks of ways to "accelerate" this practice. In addition to the "accelerators" of "Trigger Practice", Duration training, "Motion Challenge", and "Auto-Speak", Shinzen also delves into a SHIFT of ATTITUDE regarding situations or "Situation Practice."
He then speaks of how we integrate the practice, and our experiences (including "nothingness") , into our daily lives.
Shinzen ends with some TS Eliot ("The Four Quartets") - weeping as he shares that beautiful poetic description of this path.

The seed of obsession with TS Elliot's poetry now grows within my mind. Maybe it will grow into a tree after Mid-winter Spring. 🌲🌞

Absolutely beautiful and helpful. One of my favorite things in life is to see someone so emotionally touched by the profundity of the thoughts in their mind that they have trouble getting the words out without losing it. Something to do with deep truth. Anyway, you have helped me so much over the past few years, thank you for that and for this.

Such a deep… Deep and complex video and reading. It would be a great honor to be able sit and practice with Shinzen. When the world returns to normal, I hope he hosts an in-person sitting/retreat. To be able to rise & fall, sink & swim, hide & be seen on our individual and combined paths, in his presence, would be beautiful ❤️

Little Gidding I Midwinter spring is its own season Sempiternal though sodden towards sundown, Suspended in time, between pole and tropic. When the short day is brightest, with frost and fire, The brief sun flames the ice, on pond and ditches, In windless cold that is the heart's heat, Reflecting in a watery mirror A glare that is blindness in the early afternoon. And glow more intense than blaze of branch, or brazier, Stirs the dumb spirit: no wind, but pentecostal fire In the dark time of the year. Between melting and freezing The soul's sap quivers. There is no earth smell Or smell of living thing. This is the spring time But not in time's covenant. Now the hedgerow Is blanched for an hour with transitory blossom Of snow, a bloom more sudden Than that of summer, neither budding nor fading, Not in the scheme of generation. Where is the summer, the unimaginable Zero summer?

MORE VIDEOS, please. Regularly. Weekly. please, MORE VIDEOS. Really, M. Shinzen, stop being so lazy. Ever since you farted on your earlier series' blooper reel, I knew you were the real deal. Then when you put the g-d math formula that describes freaking awakening in the beginning of your book... well that got my staunch scientist girlfriend at the time to pick up the book and 2 years later she is meditation almost regularly. When some lifestyle, self-improvement KZread channel asked you to describe your current state of experience... that was... Listen, more videos, please. Just go go go man, stop messing around. Get one of those devotees to regulate it and take control of the schedule for you. A podcast at least (my apologies if there is a podcast already). Enough of this!
