@@Torriaw1 yea, I've heard them on pop stations also. And they're very successful. But what I mean is, Shinedown should be a household name. Like if you were to stop 5 random people on the street, they'd be able to name the band members and all their songs cuz they're THAT good! Lol.

About 10 years ago shinedown was staying at the hotel I was working at. One night they walked by to go to their rooms and I said “.45 is my favorite song!” They heard and came back up to me and were thankful and Chatted with me for a few mins. I told them I was in a band too. I was too nervous to ask for a pic but Eric came by the next night alone and I was able to get a pic. I also showed him my bass since I brought it to work to play late at night (I worked the graveyard shift. Saw Eric at NAMM not long after and showed him the pic and said that was me! They’re so nice!

Send away for a priceless gift One not subtle, one not on the list Send away for a perfect world One not simply, so absurd In these times of doing what you're told Keep these feelings, no one knows What ever happened to the young man's heart? Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45 Swimming through the ashes of another life No real reason to accept the way things have changed Staring down the barrel of a 45 Send a message to the unborn child Keep your eyes open for a while In a box high up on the shelf, left for you, no one else There's a piece of a puzzle known as life Wrapped in guilt, sealed up tight What ever happened to the young man's heart? Swallowed by pain, as he slowly fell apart And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45 Swimming through the ashes of another life No real reason to accept the way things have changed Staring down the barrel of a 45 Everyone's pointing their fingers Always condemning me And nobody knows what I believe I believe And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45 Swimming through the ashes of another life No real reason to accept the way things have changed Staring down the barrel of a 45 And I'm staring down the barrel of a 45 And I'm swimming through the ashes of another life There is no real reason to accept the way things have changed Staring down the barrel of a 45, 45

He has overcome so frickin much and he just oozes positivity. I have a ton of admiration for Brent. and the rest of Shinedown. He tends to get all of the attention but Shinedown is more than even Brent, it's the whole band. I hope they ALL keep rockin for as long as I live. They are one of the few remaining Bastions for the real rockers out there and a true inspration for what we should all become. I hope they stay strong and keep doing what they do.

I've been trying to learn how to sing to gain some confidence and push thru over 20 years of extreme depression and suicidality. This song used to be one of my favorites (probably because it hits the theme of depression), but I hadn't heard it in probably 10 years. I made it not even one verse in before I broke down in tears.
