As a Marine veteran and current Soldier continuing to suffer from ptsd, its music like this that sometimes is just enough to get me through my day. I truly believe you must spend time in a dark head space to understand those that continue to be there. Thankyou greatly for creating music. Reading the comments and seeing people like myself and from all walks of life struggling as well gives my heart joy and hope for them and myself.

@Zac, I'm right there with you on the dark places and how music helps ge bus thru. The bands music helped me get thru the dark times on my last deployment on the carrier. It was my saving grace! Brother, the dark spaces are what we use to appreciate the light in ways most people never will. I haven't lived in your shoes, but I've worn the boots. There is always hope as long as there is life. If you like R&B and/or Hiphop, try Krizz Kaliko as well. Songs that sing to the darkness in all of us can also lead us to light.

You never know how dark of a place you’re in until a song with so much positivity brings you to tears

Quite possibly one of the greatest bands to ever step foot on this earth. Not only because of their incredible musical talent, but because they care so much about their fans that they put stuff out like this for all of their fans who are struggling to find hope in their life. I'll even admit, they're the reason I find it much easier to even get out of bed when I listen to them first thing in the morning.

Anyone else alive solely because bands exist? I feel like they understand me more than loved ones even understand, depression has a way of taking hold. I've tried medicine. It makes it worse. People don't want to talk, because in too negative. I'm too intense. I exercise, it helps a lot but only temporarily. One thing constant in my life that has always picked me up.. People who understand. Bands have saved my life on more than one occasion. To bands like shinedown, I love you guys love your music.

I love this version of the song! More intimate for the lyrics and shows the depth and power of the song. I relate to it so much. Thank you!

To hear and see it played live puts this song in perspective and in league of its own. I have very fortunate that I got to see them play this song twice for the Attention Attention tour and twice for the Revolutions tour. They are hands down the best metal/rock band out there right. Hopefully 🤞 one more time during the Revolutions tour I will get to see/hear them again.

Shinedown is something we all need. Its not just misic, its a lifestyle. And their music just voices the lifestyle. This band influenced so many of my life choices, and im glad. Now I’m happy with my family and friends, and I wouldn’t change anything about it.

I just saw Shinedown in concert and met them. You could not imagine how amazing they are. I still could not believe Zach Myers handed me his sweatband that said "ZM83" (Zach Myers 1983) and his guitar pic with his signature. (he threw two guitar pics at me and one flew the other way and the other went over my head.) I have a picture with each of these great people. They are a BRILLIANT band and also wonderful people if you ever get to talk to them and meet them. Couldn't have a greater First Concert 💛🖤 (Nashville, TN. May 14, 2019. My 10 year old son was diagnosed with brain cancer (high grade glioma) this year on Mother's Day. It's been a rough year, and this song kicks me in the teeth every time, and it means so much to me. This band is mesmerizing. Brent is completely phenomenal - my hero. I know he is not gay but he is the total package from my observations and I would love to meet him some day just to shake his hand and say thank you. And tell him how handsome he is too LOL - my god he is breathtaking in this video.

Absolutely adore this band, they have gotten me through the worst moments of my life and helped me celebrate the best moments. I can honestly say one of the greatest moments was during their tour at the end of last year when i got to meet them outside the venue and i cannot thank the guys enough for taking the time to say hi to a fan and an enormous thanks to Brett for letting me take a video for my fiance with him. A band that is truly great both in their music, but even in their personalities. Your music is increbile and I thank you for all the memories and will happily raise a glass and toast to many more

You know a band is good when they cover their own songs in different styles, and each version is just as powerful and they still sound like themselves!

Shortly after my mother died from cancer, my husband lost his job, almost losing my dad to heartbroken syndrome Shinedown released Attention Attention and I heard this song and it spoke to me, it motivated me. To get up, move on. Over a year later husband finds a better job that he loves and I become a CNA because I wanted to help others the way I helped my mom. Shinedown has saved me in ways they could never imagine. I think I only made it through 2018 because of my loving husband and Shinedown.

BRENT!!! Not sure if you remember this…years ago, SHINEDOWN, was an opener for Tantric in a cramped bar in Colorado Springs called The 32 Blue!!! You had really long hair then lol. The other opening band didn’t show, so you guys played an extra set, the last song you did…. You and your guitarist came out, told the audience to light up our phones or lighters and the wanted us to sing simple man along with you! Brother I was was hooked from that day forward. Hello :) No details needed, I just wanted to let you know that I hope you find your footing in life! I sometimes listen to a clip here on the ol' KZreads called "GOOD" by Jocko Willink, a former Navy SEAL, and the underlying message helps keep me disciplined. In short, he encourages people to find a way to say "good", even when given a negative. Not sure if it would be something that's your style, but it worked wonders for me. My latest "good" moment that I just realized : "Tired? Good. That means you're working hard and moving forward in life. Keep at it."

Talk about underrated. This band is incredible. I remember a good 15 years ago my friend introduced them to me and I was hooked. Man everything they put out seems to relate to my life. They should be up there with the classic rock groups. Every other band from when they started is probably not together or still together but haven't put a song out in 15 years. These guys, Metallica, Aerosmith etc can release a song anytime they want and people will listen no matter what genre they like

Oh my God, it's been forever since I heard this song. It's so good. It actually made me think of my daughter whose fiance just broke things off. Oh and they have a 2 year old son, and she just started nursing school.. great timing Jerk off !! Lol. Anyways I told her to make it her theme song. She loved it!! 🤘

I’ve always loved these guys. Music with meaning that can be applied to everyday life is a great thing. Words that can motivate, guide and in some ways heal is pretty rare nowadays. Truly awesome band

LOVE THIS piano version. Watching Ian move towards Florida... Over the next few days, I expect we will see many lives upended as the state weathers yet another strapping hurricane. For those who end up looking around when it is over and see so much destruction and loss, I get how the trauma can weigh one down. Especially when the world really does go sideways and you don't know what to do, it can feel like there is no getting back to a "normal" life for a while. There is very real fear and anger and many sleepless nights for these folks. I know. But, when the storm has hit and moved on... when daylight starts to shine down again.... it will be on each struggling individual to put one foot in front of the other... Each family and circle of friends to come to one another's aid... it each community to rebuild the place called home even stronger than it was before. Most importantly, whether hard hit or not, it will be on each of us to help rally one another back to life again, just as we have done so many times before, living here, in Florida. So, after the storm passes, give this song a listen if you get a chance. Let it help to uplift any soul uncertain of what to do next. As for me, I intend to have it on repeat for a while yet. Still trying to work through my own funks these days. Whatever works for you, though, to motivate and urge you to be your best self, hold on to it. Keep shining bright like the stars you are.

Luv this song "Get up" . Believe me, i was in a bad place this last yr after losing my husband to cancer.. This song has helped these last few months..
