No, take it to him, show it off to him, tell him it is really good but NOT for sale. That will then push Hoovie to demand to buy it by paying more than the Wizard paid for it. He will then get the Wizard to fix everything wrong with it and then eventually sell it back to the Wizard as payment for some other project at half the price he paid for it. Wizard then gets the car he wanted and got paid for fixing it.

As someone from an EU country I was amazed how it looked even uglier in person, it's also gigantic blob and looks even more ridiculous among European cars and on our small roads. Hey car wizard, I run my own performance shop and I specialize in Nissan trucks, I am very familiar with these rigs, Nissan used the same frame for all of the trucks and suv's (they call it the F-alpha platform) which means these things are like lego's everything interchanges. We take the motors from the Titans, armada's, qx56's (vk56de engine) and swap them into the Nissan xterra/frontiers/pathfinders which are 2000lbs lighter in weight. It makes for a really fun rig. Both cars use the same transmission just different bell housings, the exact same transfer case, There is no modifying anything everything just drops in and bolts up because Nissan used the same frame for everything.People also swap suspension parts between the two for longer travel and a wider stance. Currently I am building a supercharged vk56de for my personal xterra with a goal of 500hp. I would HIGHLY recommend an Uprev flash tune for that rig it will actually net you better fuel economy and better performance. It does a lot to help with the drive by wire system and removes factory restrictions like only 80% throttle comand is allowed in 1st gear from the factory. Uprev can remove that. It really improves the car and will cost about $700-800 for a custom tune file made for your truck. Also Trans-go makes a shift kit for that transmission that will really wake it up as well, Also I usually convert to Audi R8 coilpacks as well on all of them.

Essentially making the infinity his version of an I SF so to speak. Also wondering if the VQ 50 might stuff in one as well. That VQ 50 that they put in the FX 50 was a beast of an engine and I don’t know why they did not you lies it more or make a performance addition of the Pathfinder or frontier. I’d love your website or information just to check out your projects man. Bmxguy08

Five points: 1) you're missing the front skid plate that actually goes from the front bumper lip to the engine. It has to be removed to get at the oil filter, so somebody probably forgot to put it back on. 2) the oil cooler leak is so incredibly easy to fix. Next time you change your oil, after you pull the oil filter it takes a socket to remove the central nut off the same shaft the oil filter screws onto. No need to disconnect any coolant lines, the pancake cooler pulls straight off. The seal is the EXACT same size as the OEM oil filter o-ring, so in a pinch you can simply remove one from a cheap oil filter and it'll cost less than the OEM seal and work just the same. That seal gets a lot of heat from the engine and hardens as it ages. It's probably good practice to go ahead and replace it every few years. I did mine in 2018, after owning and driving it for almost six years it started to seep a little. 3) the air ride suspension is important for towing heavy trailers, also there is a trailer brake control unit for this, should be included, most people leave them in the glovebox and never install them. After 8 years of owning my Armada the air ride suspension has been perfectly trouble free. 4) I think there might have been a recall on the early year fuel sending units. 5) the only two flaws I've had is a broken vent on the passenger side of the dash, and an occasional annoying false signal on the sonar parking sensors. In other words, no big deal. Keep up on all the fluid changes and scheduled maintenance and it is a very reliable platform. Other than needing a new starter, my brother has had the same experience with his 2008 Armada.

Congrats on the buy. I have a 2010, and have luckily only run into some issues/quirks: Look for engine sludge - this is a common issue for high-mileage used vehicles, and will require replacing the valve covers since they have baffles built into them prior to the PCV valves, which will also be clogged. Parts are relatively inexpensive if you don't go to the dealer. From there, synthetic oil changes at 3,000 should keep issues away. Check radiator - end caps can/will eventually leak Want to the car to seem more modern? update the radio for $20 and the interior lighting for $15. Bluetooth transmitter for radio - Stock Bluetooth is only for phone calls, not music - this will fix it. To reduce electic noise, use the always-on outlet to the left of the analog clock on the center console. I set my transmitter to 107.7 here on the East coast, but you may have a better blank station out where you are. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07V27CYPT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Interior LED bulb replacements - this made a huge difference - much brighter inside, and made it seem like a modern car www.amazon.com/Classy-Autos-Infiniti-Interior-Package/dp/B00I3PRCQY

It is fairly easy to work on ( I do 90% of the work on it myself), can carry a ridiculous amount of gear, it tows like a champ, and it is amazing for cross country road trips (aside from emptying your bank account from gas fill-ups). Just make sure to bypass the transmission cooler in the radiator or you are guaranteed to kill the transmission.

Regarding your fuel sender issue, there was a recall on that back in '09, I believe, so it seems likely that could be the issue. At random times under normal braking the breaks would make this this horrible sound as if the anti-lock activated for no reason. The break pedal would feel super weird as well. After turning the SUV off and starting back up it would be gone. Of course the mechanics were never able to replicate until it happened again and I took it to them without turning the vehicle off and they noticed what I was talking about. Still, they were stumped and couldn't diagnosed what would make it behave like that.

On TSI engines before around 2012, VW cheaped out and chose poor quality timing chains which would stretch prematurely, apparently because the factory that made them used worn out dies. This was a big issue on the early 1.2TSI especially, because the tensioner was hydraulic and the oil pressure could drop when not used for a while, potentially causing the stretched chain to be not tensioned properly allowing it to jump.

Couple things to keep in mind with those as well as the qx80s is the control arms like to seize right up making alignments next to impossible unless you cut them out and replace them. It’s especially bad in northern states. We’ve had customers come in for their 15k alignment and both fronts and rears were seized right up. If that one is equipped with adaptive cruise control a faulty ICC sensor (forward facing radar) can in some cases result in a crank no start due to CAN comm errors. Faulty clusters are also somewhat common on those which can result in a no start.

Definitely better fix that gas gauge if you are towing with that thing. The range is going to be about 100 miles with a big boat hooked to it.

In my little hometown in Poland there is one black, tinted windows, purrs so nice, and it's been on the road for a few years now. You got me checking the listings for one now.

Nice find! If you ever run into the cracked manifold issue, just slap some JBA long tubes and catted downpipes plus a tune on it and you'll be good to go for a long time. No more manifold, no more cracking issues!

And some header wrap to save the sparkplug boots from the heat. I heard header wraps can cut heat around the headers by almost 100 degrees.

@@nathanlewis5682 The wrap is a good idea, but melting boots on a 5.6 isn't a worry since it's coil on plug in the heads.

I absolutely love the looks of the older Lincoln MKX (like 08 to 10) but after researching it and finding out it had an internal water pump I refused for years to buy one. Fast forward to now and I am so glad I stayed away from them. I still love the way they look and wish I could get one that someone put an old 300 inline six ford motor in or a 5.0.

I had a 2011 platinum armada treated me well, towed my 5500 lb camper with it. Gas mileage was bad while towing but it was very stable and rode well. The main issue we had was with the ac/head door actuators in the dash (replaced them twice) where there would only be hot or cold on drivers side. I never had the exhaust manifold issue but a company called Cajun B pipes makes replacement headers that solve the issue for good. That in Texas the AC was very weak and couldn't keep up. Everything else about it was pretty good! It met its end in a bad hail storm and got totaled.
