What Sherpa and Jamie explored is the castle keep, innermost and fortified centre of the castle. To be used as a last resort when attacked. The actual castle would’ve surrounded it in medieval times. Fascinating! Thank you, Jamie and Sherpa, for taking us with you. 💙

Amazing you can still see Castles in England!! Here we only had homes built in the 1600s by the English and Dutch, on Long Island. Now owned by Historical Society. Wild!!! Joan Bates ❤ ❤ ❤

Canadian here. I started to research my British roots a few years ago and found my 'Bridges' ancestors in Castle Rising, King's Lynn and West Newton for generations going back to at least the 1750's. Many ancestors worked for Queen Victoria and King Edward at Sandringham. The Bridges family were the gamekeepers at Sandringham for generations. Thank you Sherpa and Jamie for this virtual tour of where my family is from.

I love Castle Rising, and Castle Acre! I loved the photo of Sherpa on the hill outside the castle! They are not too far from where we live. Oxburgh Hall is amazing too, and quite close to where you were, it’s got a priest hole that you can go down into. Kings Lynn, or Lynn as the locals know it, is amazing, especially if you go to the old medieval market square.

I always hear someone say coffee... With these videos we learn History and I also learn English, I didn't know the expression "dogs must be kept on leads" 😄 This really took me back to the middle ages. I wonder how they managed to heat the rooms when it was cold in winter.😯😘🐕❤

They had roaring log fires that the lowly servants topped up during the day. Most of the UK was then covered in forests so wood was not hard to come by. Now many of the woods and forests have been chopped down to make way for motorways and housing estates.

This castle is amazing!!! Looks like it would be easy to get lost in it. So cool😎 As Always Thanks For Sharing ❣️ Love the adventures 💞

Just think! Sherpa left a peemail on top of hundreds of years worth of doggy peemails. The originals were probably in old English. And he was in top shape going up those medieval stairways!

I laughed out loud at "Little delinquent." 😄 Closed captioning says "Chips" or "Ships" for when Jamie says "Sherps." And it says "Goodbye" for when he says "Good boy." That was wonderful. I have to look at it a few times to really appreciate everything; these wanders are filled with interesting or beautiful things. Sherpa's howling was fantastic, I'm still laughing. It's echoing roar was enough startle the ghosties, who probably thought some unearthly beastie must have come to take over the place and kick them out. Sherpa you're an adorable gift to us all. The U.K. is amazing with its long history. As an American in England 1961-62, I played with Swoppets, the beautifully designed toy knights and soldiers. Robin Hood and King Arthur were heroes.

They need some lifts installed Jamie. Imagine how it looked when all the floors were still there, big fires in the hearths. Such rich history we have. Those first people didn’t realise they were in the company of greatness, but at least the last ones did

It never ceases to amaze me how incredible these castles are. The years it took to build plus the skill, without any modern technology, that existed so that they survive for centuries! Thanks Jamie and Sherpa for all your virtual tours. Loving every minute!

So pleased to see another video of your journey to Norfolk. I hope you found time to take King Sherps to one of our beautiful beaches. I love that he said hello to my fellow Norfolk natives. For a future trip, may I suggest Bosworth in Leicestershire? You can walk the site of the Battle of Bosworth, complete with directional markers and history posts describing the battlefield. There is a nice visitors centre too and a cafe etc. The ground is not too arduous so King Sherps should be okay (being mindful of his venerable years!).
