It's good that they are taking animals to prisons and giving prisoners a 2nd Chance I know how that is my dad's cat willy was taken to PetSmart because he was "too wild" his old owners never played with him locked him in the other room and while they did take care of him they didn't love him my dad adopted him and because of what happened in the past he was scared to do things the 1st month like scared to play scared to be alone or jump on things like the couch or bed. Over the course of a month he started acting like a cat. Then another 2 came from the same place one after a large storm the other in -30 weather both as kittens they are doing much better and one is the most spoiled cat ever

I have insane respect for a lot of these prisoners who realize that they just got a bad start, and they can find a passion that will drive them to be successful people. I wish all prisons had that program it helps the prisoners learn to trust and give them a outlet and they can get out and work with dogs because not everyone knows how to train a dog it will give them a better a chance to find a job after being released from prison and it gives the shelter dogs a place that they can learn how to trust humans again and they learn obedience training and and it helps out shelters so they can take in more rescue animals and it helps give the rescue dogs a better chance of finding there forever homes I think this program is one of the greatest programs a prison can have and I think it is so sweet that his parents adopted that dog so Jason can have him when he gets out that dog is so cute too

As a medical student (maybe not quite the same as a veterinarian), the gratitude is worth all the hardships of getting there. I'm not going to lie. Being a veterinarian is not an easy road. It's fun to say you want to be one when you grow up, but it takes more than just a love for animals. It takes sheer determination. But again, when I see my patients, all of that grief I endured through endless hours of school, makes it worth it.

This story brought tears to my eyes. I am so happy for the dog, Jason, and Jason's family. More shelter dogs should be trained and adopted by prisoners.

I truly hope Jason doesn’t have a set back and ends up back in jail. You can see that him and the pup have a very special bond. Hopefully that’s enough to keep him on the straight and narrow🤞🏽 Love this program!

I love seeing this. More people who are incarcerated need to have more chances like this. Dogs are the greatest. Having an opportunity to help both rescue dogs and prisoners is the most beautiful thing. Keep up the great work.

"Why didn't you tell me?" Jason must have been thinking he doesn't deserve such a special blessing… Sometimes I feel like I don't deserve anything slightly nice as well, remembering all the things I shouldn't have said, or should have said, and the times when I was not grateful or kind enough. Smokey looked like a shining star to Jason.🌟

Dog's truly are the best. When my dad died I felt like the only living thing that helped me was my dog. It almost like she felt that I would be sad she would never leave my side....now she's gone to heaven with my dad and it hurts . I hope they reunited. Dog's truly change your life.
