I've closely watched the evolution of athletics for over 40 years, through all the drug-fuelled 80s dominated by East Germany and USSR, through the one-off blindingly fast runs of people like Christine Aaron, Jeter and The further drug fuelled runs by Marion Jones etc. Through all that, one athlete has raised her head and become the greatest female sprinter of all time. Shelly Ann is that athlete. If you ignore Flo-Jo's wind aided world record of 10.49, and the 10.54 windy at the Olympics in '88, then the current world record is actually 10.61. I honestly believe that Shelly Ann can beat that time. Her times and her medals, along with her longevity make her the greatest there's ever been. Obviously, this is my opinion, but I believe it also to be the truth! G'wan girl!

  • @DrClark-xd8ie

Flo-Jo's 10.49 time was no more wind aided than Shelly Ann 10.63. Stop discrediting her 10.49 because you and I both know that the 34-year-old Shelly-Ann won't break it so you want to move the line closer by coming with this wind-aided foolishness.

I wondered if there will ever be a next Jamaican woman to pick up that flag knowing that our young girls desperately need that positive motivation. coming from Waterhouse Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce you have proven to the world the black woman is never on the bottom regardless of her circumstan. Black woman you are the cream of the crop. every time they set the bar higher, my people show them that they can never measure up. These commentators need to do some research before making incorrect statements. At 3:55 we hear the commentator saying only Flo Jo and Carmelita Jeter have run faster than S-Ann-Frasers. That's incorrect - Shelly Ann Fraser is now 2nd to FloJo and Carmelita Jeter is now sitting at 3rd position.

@@jaygee1979 I remember when the IOC (International Olympic Committee) had questions about one of Flo-jo's test samples and her coaching staff claim the drug was prescribed to treat her chronic asthma condition. Since then, I too have doubts. To make matters worse, Evelyn Ashford who was the 100m world record holder, Gwen Torrence, and Merlene Ottey use to beat up Flo-jo all the time. Then all of a sudden Flo-jo starts to run past them like nothing. Gwen Torrence was mad as hell and often times raise suspicions about Flo-jo's sudden improvement. Not only did she beat the 100 meters world record by an astonishing margin, inviting allegations that she must have been on drugs, but she accomplished the feat wearing a gaudy purple costume, with one leg bare, topped by a color-coordinated thong. Ooh, and those fingernails.

Shelly-Ann is just insane!!!!! It's like watching a Tesla zoom past station wagons!!! She stopped accelerating for the last 1-1.5 metres and glided over. If she keeps going hard till the finish, it'll be a sub- 10.6 definitely.

I hope I don’t hear on TVJ ever again something as inane as the announcer stating that Jamaicans think that the Olympics is just about “Sprinting” instead of a myriad of other competitive events ever again. That’s embarrassing to say at this stage.

Did one of these guys say Jamaicans think the OLYMPICS is just track & Field? Why some quasi educated people like to take all Jamaicans for idiots? Jamaicans may PREFER Track & Field, but I bet even the least educated Jamaican knows the Olympics is a showcase of various sports. Kmdt. Damn poppyshow.
