If they want, they can come for testing every week of the year. I have nothing to hide." Her husband says all the talk boils down to jealousy. He said his wife's astonishing gains are the result of being "trained as a man." He added: “We bought a $150 leg exerciser and he did leg rolls every night. Over 20 pounds every night to add strength to your legs. He worked 12 hours a day.” Only those who have nothing to hide say so. The doubters in the comments can keep speaking ill of Florence but one thing you all can never deny is her superior technique and how ahead of her time it was! Even Elaine Thompson-Herah of Jamaica praised her unbelievable mechanics and tried to replicate it. She ran a 10.16s split in her 200m time of 21.34s at the 88’ Seoul Olympics, what makes you all think that she couldn’t have achieved 10.49s without it being wind aided??? There is no proof of that record being wind aided or her taking performance enhancers! The IAAF still recognises her phenomenal execution as the official 100m world record and I’m sure they aren’t stupid so please let her rest in peace!

  • @grimgamer24

    @grimgamer24

    The debate that people believe her time was wind aided comes from the fact that all the heats ran before her race were all above the allowable limit (the lowest reading that day was +2.7). And the quarter final race 3 after hers (I believe she ran in quarter final race 1) had a wind reading of +5.0!! I refuse to believe that all of a sudden for quarter final race 1 and 2 both had a reading of 0.0 and then immediately spiked to 5.0.

    I thought she had come up positive in the past? Am I wrong on that? I think her passing of a heart attack so young is tragic. Heart disease can be hereditary but it's going to add to the controversy that steroids can lead to cardiac problems.

    It is very naive to believe that FloJo wasn't juiced. Jarmila Kratochvílová's 1:53,28 (1983-oldest WR) in women's 800m and Marita Koch's 47:60 (1985) in women's 400m are still standing and are almost unbreakable like FloJo's records. All 3 were tested negative but we all know that they were juiced. Between 1982-1987 FloJo's SB at 100 and 200 meters were around 11 and 22 seconds and out of a sudden during 3 months (July-August-September 1988) she ran all those unbelievable times. After the 1988 Olympics, Griffith Joyner retired from competitive track and field, just before the introduction of mandatory random drug testing in 1989. Come oooon.

    @@ct4423 You do recognize that world athletics themselves have publicly recognized the wind was illegal, correct? Your argument is tired and weak. You're like children hiding the same place every time and not expecting to get caught with your reused arguments. If Bolt races average racers with a strong wind, he'll smash the world record and they still wouldn't be anywhere near him. The wind doesn't mean you can beat a faster athlete (likely doped) who is literally experiencing the same wind. All it impacts is the time. It's not rocket science. An egg could grasp this. And in addition, there was no Evelyn Ashford in the world record race. She was in Quarter-final 3. Congrats on outing yourself as knowing nothing and speaking just to speak.

If you know any evidence of fraud, bring it up, because you can't prove anything with lying words. The 100m and 200m world record holder is FloJo, these are the facts. Statement from FloJo and her husband Al Joyner: “I know exactly what people say about me,” he said. “And that's just not true. I don't need to use drugs. They can come and test every week of the year if they want. I have nothing to hide." According to her husband, all the talk can be traced back to jealousy. He said his wife's astonishing gains were the result of being "trained as a man." He added: “We bought a $150 leg exerciser and he did leg rolls every night. Over 20 pounds every night to build strength in your legs. He worked 12 hours a day.” Do it all the way, for months, 12 hours of leg training a day, and you'll set a world record.

    FloJo's 10.49 was clearly wind-aided, just look at the number and the hair of the runner right next to her. Besides, if we make the wind convertion of all her times from that season, they're all around 10.67 - 10.7x, her "10.49" is almost 0.2 faster than any other race she ran in 1988. Very suspicious. In my eyes, Elaine Thompson-Herah is the real 100m WR holder.
