It’s heartbreaking to see some of Asafa’s pre-race videos. There are times he looks terrified as if he’s gonna poop his pants. People say he cracks in the big races, but we don’t know if he overcame the worst of anxiety to become a great athlete. I’d love to hear Asafa’s side of the story. Maybe one day 🤞🏽

No body possess a greater sprinting technique than Asafa Powell. If he had his performance anxiety, nervousness and all that on point, he would possibly demolish bolt.

You gotta remember that Bolt has scoliosis so that will always affect his stride/ mechanics

flowjos technique is very different, Why no one tries to emulate that is surprising. Clearly that technique seems the best of all.

I was a 5’7 sprinter. I have a very powerful lower body along with small feet. I wear a 7.5us. That means my feet are lighter and can hit the ground faster.

i think there advantages/disadvantages to heights at any distance, but how the athlete trains and uses their advantages in performance is what matters most. I can imagine at more extreme ends of height, there could be bigger disadvantages, but I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of those disadvantages have to do with the impacts of how living in the rest of society is not physically optimized for those heights (with variations based on country) which can affect training and performance in a very straightforward physical performance sport.

I think Bolt not improving past his 2009 feats is nature's way of preventing the sport from being broken 😂 imagine we get a 9.49 and 18.99.... we will be getting a situation worse than flojo, not to say that it is already somewhat like that right now for the men

Technique ? Just technique ? Not considering , height , strength, stamina and leg speed ? Cuz, you can be a slow leg speed , weak, and short person with no stamina , and have perfect technique and do your 20+ second 100m runs with prefect technique. Usain Bolt does not have the perfect or best technique just because he is the fastest. I vote for Frankie Fredricks. He has the most prefect technique of any runner I have ever seen, in my opinion.

I'm sorry, but hamstrings not being mentioned is a big mistake in my opionion. Hamstrings and glutes and psoas is where top speed comes from, where as quads are the driving phase muscle, and in my experience as a 10.50 sprinter with 15+ years of training under my belt, hamstring genetics/development is one of the main factors with extraordinary sprinters For example those who are blessed with elite genetics had insane hamstrings and even without spacific training were repping nordics, where as i only got there with training and saw my top speed increase noticably after putting more focus on that part of my body.

Particular in the sprint when it is all over after 100m women are all amazing. I am talking ONLY about the top elite. I need a KZread video explaining what women could be just as males in long distance running. I have feeling it >might< be so. What does male bone weigh and what does female bones weigh. ´Make a video about THAT and then explain marathons where I in my wild mind think females have a chance. I guess many countries pick sports and training methods that cost less. Netherlands did not have to do that .... it is just a bunch of trainers and a lot of athletes getting super competent in running. Same with bicycle. Netherlands have a bunch of trainers and athletes who have a targeted training. They did not need to select such cheap sports but they did and it all continued from there ... so they are in a flow. And that might end.

I think raw speed shines more on the relay while athletes with less raw speed can compensate with technical ability at the start of the 100m

imo the next record holders of the 100m record will have to be dual dominant sprinters since one would have to excessively go much faster than bolts highest recorded speed to make up for the poorer start which i very much doubt could ever happen
