As much as I love the trilogy and Gorka and the delicious Best Served Cold, Red Country is Abercrombie’s best book. It plays very cleverly and sardonically with the American Western revenge genre and combines English swordplay legends with American wild frontier tropes in a unique and brilliant way. The Japanese have tried to mix Samurai mythology with the idea of Old West lawlessness and land grabbing, but far less successfully. This would make a super movie.

Can't say that's how I imagined them to look at all, but especially on Carlyle I can't really disagree.

Kevin Willis Hugh Jackman would have been great playing another Logan but he’s too old now.

While I think Joe's got a good enough voice, don't you love Stephen Lacey's narration? He breathes such perfect life into Ambercrombie's words. I love those two together.
