couldn't live without but gets real impractical really fast. I have absolutely no wall space left for shelfs and moving is a complete and utter nightmare with several dozen heavy book cases.

Joe seems like a great dude. He's the one who inspired me to write. (I'm terrible at it, though i love doing it.) He showed me that regular guys can write books.(assuming he is a regular guy, certainly seems it)

As much as I love the trilogy and Gorka and the delicious Best Served Cold, Red Country is Abercrombie’s best book. It plays very cleverly and sardonically with the American Western revenge genre and combines English swordplay legends with American wild frontier tropes in a unique and brilliant way. The Japanese have tried to mix Samurai mythology with the idea of Old West lawlessness and land grabbing, but far less successfully. This would make a super movie.

I could not be happier about Joe's connection to A Game of Thrones. Also, after seeing this video we obviously need an officially judged arm-wrestling contest between Joe and Jim Butcher to settle who the strongest current fantasy author is. Edit: I forgot about Myke Cole, so, now it's a tournament.

@@heelamw Karl Urban could play a good Logan. Although I think he would be an even better Black Dow. The only casting I personally would consider borderline mandatory in a First Law adaptation though would be Burn Gorman as Glokta; I can think of no one else who fits the role better

Started reading Foote's American Civil War because of this. Finished first book and not regretting

I love Abercrombie books and LOVE Lonesome Dove, now all make sense.

He's the best author in my opinion! His books are amazing!

Don’t know why but he comes across as though he’s in love with the sound of his own voice.

Joe - you are a great writer.

Look at him, he will live longer and healthier than the other writers. His universe will expand and grow in amazing ways. The improvement in his writing from The Last Wish to The Age of Madness is also remarkable.

I am doing the same thing with my paperbacks. Sometimes I feel like I need two sets of each book, one for reading and one as collection item.

Yeah, all goes back to Juvens and Kanedias. Not unexplored territory, but I enjoy his writing

i have a few shelves, but this is magnificent. truly something to aspire to. my dream library would ideally have a ladder , but additionally i envisioned fine high-back leather chairs as well as warm lights that could be positioned for perfect book reading.

@@precisism1804 Most likely because of his writing style, and maybe a little to do with his name too. "Abercrombie" sounds like the name you'd expect to fit a 90 year old farmer living out in the wilderness wearing dungarees, and working the fields with his bare hands, in sun, rain, and snow.

I know I'm not the first to say it, but I wonder if there's going to be a Jordan Sanderson situation with Martin and Abercrombie.

Anyone else think Ray Stevenson is a great choice to play Logan ninefingers in a TV adaptation? Personally I'm hoping HBO has a go at it, they seem the only choice to do his books justice. Any other casting suggestions? Robert Carlyle as the dogman?

While I think Joe's got a good enough voice, don't you love Stephen Lacey's narration? He breathes such perfect life into Ambercrombie's words. I love those two together.
