16:48 Pat: "[...] and then 14 years later you eventually finish your map". GRRM nods in agreement :). And all this because of course Pat just got sidetracked by an aquifer. Makes sense to me. I started a novel 5 years ago. I'm 65% in. I hate to even open up the word file now.

Why do you hate to open the word file? Are you sick of writing the book now?

@@Indeterminite i feel i outgrew it, particularly the characters and their trajectories/struggles etc. I do not "feel" them as i used to, i.e. ability to immerse myself completely in their fictitious lives and just go where the flow takes me. I could, of course, make it a very precise exercise of drawing a schematic on what they should do next to advance the plot but for me characters being "alive" and doing things to respond to internal and external stimuli is a big part of why I write.

I believe I've seen this before but from another angle. What a joy it is to be at the front row seat. I think I'm on the camera mans lap and watching this to be quite frank. Ah, what a wonderful day it is. If I ever go to one of these and I'm one of the people on the panel, you best believe I'm going to drink everyone's water jug. I should add, but man do I not like these other people other than GRRM. They annoy me so! They all think they're comedians. So very much so. Oh the sorrow! Que the rain!!!! (Pulls fire alarm) I must go!

I don't like these types of panels because the writers are just trying to one up each other with "funny" remarks. They're just trying to be entertaining for the audience.
