In R&D, if a project reaches the limit of its budget the organisation will likely be tempted to increase the budget because the time and money they've already expended would've been a waste otherwise.

    @@cupcakemcsparklebutt9051 It's the goverment "fundraising" model. EVERY single goverment project (and I really mean EVERY project) works like this. You literally never hear of a government project thats finished under budget. All of them go over budget by typically more than 5x "planned" cost (It's not a mistake they literally PLAN with the knowledge that they get the money if its over budget.).

    I remember back when I was a kid in the 90s, for a good name brand DVD player would set you back starting at $1700.00 but over this summer at a flee market I saw a old school DVD beat up and collecting dust and the asking price was $25 and I started to laughing at myself thinking god I starting to feel old now.

    Sheldon is a genius with a perfect memory. He could just play poker until he amassed hundreds of millions in winnings. Which there have been geniuses that made millions this way in real life. And based on a previous episode Sheldon has all kinds of money that he never spends. The writing just doesn't make sense in a lot of places.

    just to put this into perspective: in germany a bridge was build that was suposed to lead to a new district that was suposed to be build. the bridge was needed to bridge over some unused railway tracks. after the bridge was build the tracks were removed and now the bridge leads over nothing. NOT DONE YET! the new district was cancled. now the bridge leads to nothing and over nothing. 1.3m gone
