Shearing A Gulf Coast Native Sheep On A Porch

Үй жануарлары мен аңдар

Here is a great example on how to set up for a one sheep job.
For any shearer to complete their task safely, they need the sheep to be 100% dry, off feed for (at bare minimum)12 hr before the appointment, caught in a small pen, electricity and a plywood floor. This set up checks all of those boxes.
Stay tuned for better video quality, more crimp and mouth watering fleeces up close.

YALL!! This video is from last summer, but I sheared this sheep again on Sunday and the owner gave us the fleece! We are going to weigh it and then take it from raw to roving, showing y’all the process along the way. I don’t have the time or skill to take it farther, so we are giving it away after it’s processed into roving! If you want a chance at it, comment what you think the weight will be in pounds to the second decimal. Like this “1.35 lbs”. We’ll ship it at our expense to the closest guess without going over! We will add the weighing to the end of next Sunday April 23rd 2023’s breed video! So guesses accepted until then! Happy guessing 💕

I watched a guy shearing a sheep in another video the other day and I felt so sorry for the animal. He was rough with the sheep and there was no consideration for the animal. He just ripped through it to get on with the next sheep. You are amazing and kind to each animal I see you with. Please don't ever change. I admire your skill and your ❤️ heart!

This is for both of you: I’m @ 67 year old retired man who has never spent any significant time on a farm or ranch or knowingly touched a sheep or a llama in my life. But I discovered your channel last week and I just can not get enough of your videos. There is just something so satisfying about seeing a clean, comfortable animal emerge a little at a time from its heavy fleece. Your skills at handling the animals and your obvious care from them are a joy to see, and I hope your viewers appreciate the sheer (unintended pun) amount of physical labor involved in everything from carrying and setting up your equipment to handling the animals. Thank you so much for putting out these videos and I wish you both continued success and happiness.
