What I’d love is for some one do family on her and I bet there far more slave traders in it that us from I looked into England late getting into the slave trade ( by a couple of century’s at the least and got out as fast as was possible to do so many of the slaves were acquired when we took over Islands in the Caribbean from other country’s during the napoleonic wars and had even though we had ceased trading in slaves by then were not in a position to talk to the land owners about emancipation to them considering that they were barely loyal as we needed the trade with them as the war nearly bankrupted England it took us a decade or so to get around to freeing the slaves so that it didn’t start a rebellion by the land owners who owned them in the way the American civil war did and would of ended with it all looking like the same mess that Haiti was in back then

You should take a look at the National Trust. No sign of the usual Christsmas Decorations in our local Park last year. Really grinding my gears, compounded by comments by staff. 'There was no economic return' Followed it up by taking a look at the intended coverage of celebrations for the following year! Couldn't make it up.

I am a black Latino man. I suffered so much discrimination from the black community that at first I didn't want to believe it. Arrived in England(I ❤ England), I had never met people like me from other cultures and in my ignorance I thought it would be a good idea, enriching to integrate or navigate the different black cultures, meet people, make friends, etc. Black on black racism is enormous. Many want to make sure you feel worthless.

I am 56 years old and the youngest of 6 children. We have black skin, and have lived in the countryside since my now 72 year old brother was 5 years old, we had an arable farm and had horses for show-jumping and 3 day eventing. Not once have we felt any racism, welcomed by the Welsh, as that is where our farm was. Going to school, only one gang of kids were nasty, but the teachers and the rest of the children would call them out. I have been to horse shows, farm sales, motorbike trialing, everyday I take my a dog for a walk in countryside, not once have I ever felt racism. This lady is a race baiter.

Interesting? I'm white English and my wife and I have been made to feel unwelcome three times in Wales. We once stayed at a B&B near Trawsfyned. The lady of the house was welcoming and lovely, but her husband made no bones about saying that he hated the English. We've also visited a Welsh pub where all the locals changed to speaking in Welsh when they realised we were English. Wales is still a beautiful and unspoiled country and the majority of Welsh people are fine. I'm glad that you are happy there and have made it your home sir.

@@mrmyorky5634 That same thing happened to my father (he's told me the story a few times) when he visited a pub in Wales many years ago while travelling through. I've spent some times in Wales and have sensed the hostility a couple of times some have towards the English. I would make an effort; say "diolch yn fawr" instead of the usual "thank you" at shops etc. Overall though Wales has some beautiful countryside. I will say though that in the case of my father even the barman was unhappy that the others switched and was very apologetic. There's good and bad people everywhere in my experience.

One of my best friends booked 3 months off work to go to Africa to discover her roots. I and the rest of our group of friends were all delighted for her. Two weeks later she was back and as she stepped off the plane in England she kissed the ground. She swore she would never go back there again. She was attacked, sexually assaulted and raped as she was innocently sight-seeing on different days and fondled by strange men in the street on a daily basis. Her money was stolen by 'friends' she made when she got there and after all of this she got malaria and had a violent and unusual reaction to it and nearly died. She cried that she got home in time for medical help. She could not go back to work for over a year but they accepted her back with open arms when she was ready. We love her and she loves us - oh and we all live in a little village 18 miles from the nearest town which is comprised of two streets. Her oldest son is married to my niece - this women needs to get out more and see some real life!

What ? I live in the UK, for 8 years never was I experienced any racism, was I denied work, rights and facilities because I am romanian, nor do I feel unwelcomed, unwanted or do I feel like some second class citizen. We enjoy the same rights as everybody, you could hardly find a more tolerant, liberal and fair society.

I'll give you an example of racism. I'm a white man from the south ( Portsmouth), I was working in London building security fences around masts in 2 man teams. I was left at the sight for a day by myself on the corner of a London street, where I was made very clear I wasn't welcome by the locals who were mainly black from what I see. I was spat at , rubbish was dumped into the holes I was digging by those that walked past as well as bumped into at every opportunity. A group of males spent the majority of the day sat across from me making it very clear I wasn't wanted. My boss ( also white) turned up at the end of the day smiling, thanking me for getting it done and said " they don't pay him enough to go through that again"

The problem with this interview, is that they need to bring on more black men who has lived in the English countryside for years and years, and believe me there are more than you might think....Speaking as an East London, 80s, black man who's lived 3 years in the countryside, visited Czech republic, Poland, and went to a junior school where i was the only black, a secondary school where i was one of only 2 blacks in the entire school and yes am West Ham...Only once experienced racism in that entire time...And she was the school bully so, she had a go at everyone :)

Can't tell you how many times I got offered a lift from neighbours when I went out for a stroll and a neighbour drove past me, they'd pull over and offer me a lift. Now sure, first time I walked into the village pub a wall of immediate silence hit me, but by then I'd already experienced that out in Essex and by the end of the night we were all buying each other drinks and playing pool... Similar thing happened in that pub that night... Maybe I'm not a dickhead and know we'll how to humour people and get along... Believe me this woman... Thing, doesn't speak for more down to earth blacks and browns and she definitely doesn't speak for Northeners or Welsh. Ps my sister is black, she lives in the lake District... @@actional2943 - There are many times more people of Welsh and Scots ancestry in England than English people in Wales or Scotland. There are 750,000 people BORN in Scotland who live in England. Wales is still full of Welsh people and Scotland full of Scots. They are British people living in Britain as I said - not colonists. Conquest and colonisation are not the same thing. Britain became one nation through both conquest and acts of union. I'm not going to start going over the entirety of the history of the British Isles but in 1066 the Normans conquered England and over the following years they annexed Wales bit by bit. Edward I who finally took complete control of Wales was of Norman and Anglo-Saxon ancestry. Scottish and English history is long and complex. I'm Scottish and British and it was James VI of Scotland who united the Scottish and English thrones and became James I of England in 1603. The Scottish Parliament voted to join the Union with England in 1703. I made this effort as it bothers me that people are apparently being brainwashed into believing false facts. To say England colonised Scotland and Wales is beyond false. As for Ireland yes, this was a deliberate invasion and colonisation.

Anytime someone who looks a little bit different from the general populace moves in, it is a human tendency for anyone to take time to warm up to the new arrival. This isn't something unique to a specific race or community. The issue we have is that people conflate that natural wariness to racism purely because they're not welcomed with open arms the moment they arrive. Being an immigrant myself from a country that was colonized in the past, I fully understand that I am the odd one out compared to my neighbours and it will take them some time to warm up to me, if at all they do. Again, they don't owe me a warm welcome. I'm content with "live and let live". There is such a sense of entitlement with people like her who think the world owes them everything. Sad how that only serves to divide us further!

In the 60s my grandparents adopted several nigerian children. Half my family are black muslim nigerians. And my grandparents were white christians. My nigerian family are my closest family members. Was always proud to have black family. Always will be.
