She had me in tears from her audition to her final song. Very few singers have done that to me. I know at least one of those songs she sang for her late husband. Tom knows a great voice when he hears one that's for sure. Sally your sons were so proud of you and I very much hope you're back on the stage now.

Because the music industry is heavy controlled and scripted. Rarely real artists get into the music industry. The music industry is also 80% the beauty industry and 20% about music.

It takes 6 years to find this voice. There are good singers. But this voice is from another world. I bow to this exceptional artist. Greetings from Germany.

Sally's not a performer, she's a singer in the best sense of the word, reaching into the depths of each song to reveal its meaning - it's reason for being - to the audience. A privilege to hear her.

Totally agree. Those who stick with it should be listened to. One is liable to be surprised. Perseverance is actually usually rewarded with improvement, not surprisingly, in my experience.

She didn’t lose. Yes , she lost the contest but look at what the show did for her- she got a ton of exposure and I bet many offers to perform etc. It revived her career.

@@jp194 absolutely agree. That was the quality the judges were talking about that they couldn’t put a finger on. It’s been so absent in music for a long time that they couldn’t recognize it.

It took me 63 years to hear Sallys voice..I'm speecless. What a honor and privilege to have heard her beautiful talented singing. Luke listening to smooth calming voice at the end of a rainbow. Thank you to Tom Jones not only for his grace and spirit but for choosing her.

Beautiful storyteller, a real winner. When you can make Tom Jones cry more than once, you know its the real thing. Sally is a gem

We are of an age and I so agree with everything you have said, Samuel. I feel that if her story was different, that I would be pulling out a much loved, well played album to recall the my time in the 60's and 70's with her name on it. Stunning!!!

Hearing her sing Dionne Warwick's "Walk on by" hit me like a ton of bricks.....I haven't heard that song in such a loooooong time and Sally's rendition is mystical!

She's so clear. You don't get that anymore. This is music. This is singing.

Sally is a perfect example how less IS more ! Her simplicity, her articulation and her sincerity shines through on every performance !!!

Sally Barker has a voice that stands the test of time. She has a crystalline quality that sparkles like light on water. She brought me back to a time in the 1960s when singers evoked emotion reflecting depth and feelings.

I am watching again and feel the same. I really wish she had won, I just love Sally’s emotional performances absolutely beautiful.

I'm a 60 year old man, home alone watching a KZread video today and for some reason out of the blue this salty liquid appeared from my eyes and my nose started to run. For 22 minutes and 17 seconds! You laid it down Ms. Sally. Your beautiful and deserve the second chance to show the world your God given talent.

Stunning. Effortless. Crystal clear. Nice range. Trained. In total control of her voice. SHE SINGS WITH HER HEART. That’s what separates her from the rest. Her heart!!! I envy her.

Tom and Sally was the perfect combination. After all she didn't won but that doesn't matter. She gets the respect from the coaches and from the country and thats worth a lot.

Sometimes it’s not about the win, but the effect an artist has on people...

"by somebody called olly murs" *Close flip phone* Killing it with a song she never heard before. That's a true singer.

For at least the past 35 years, my most favorite, emotional, inspirational, listened-to song has been 'Another Train'. I pulled it from an anthology because the haunting voice of the singer, unknown to me, Sally Barker, wouldn't leave my head. I never thought I'd ever hear from that voice again. It's hard not to sound overly dramatic trying to say what is true, but I wish I could thank her for the many many times that song rescued me over my lifetime.

Sally Barker has a perfect voice, vibrato, intonation, diction, emotion, pitch and life in her voice. Music is at home in her voice. She compliments the music and the words. She does not overpower either one, but completes them. Hats off to Miss Sally for truly giving herself to music, and may I say, to her children. God bless her and her family. @Sister Jay, your comments about Sally took me, as an Aussie, straight to Judith Durham's voice (The Seekers). When Sally sang " To Love Somebody", I believe she was singing of the love she would always have for her lost husband when they were she was so young.

Sally’s voice is incredible. She really must be recorded. Her time has come.

Likewise, 60s & 70s were the important songs in my life. Maybe why that it hits us harder. I wished she had chosen more variety to showcase her talents.

She sang, Walk On By, better than the original. That's pure talent, skill, all rolled in with being a wonderful mum too. You are a inspiring woman.

Great singing Sally. I wife of 70+ find this moving the tears ran down my cheeks. Hope she still sings because this is from 2014 and I just saw this now. Just beautiful.

When Sally sang Walk on By it was a master's class in technique! I think some of the younger contestants were amazed to hear/see her incredible ability. I could listen to her all morning long. Most others, yeah, a song or two is plenty but Ms Barker is real, real easy on the ears!!! Love her singing!

Wow! Totally agree!! It definitely is a master class! Her range and dynamics (when to do "forte" or "pianissimo") are superb! I've listened to her rendition a million times, and I still cry. The other contestants are completely transfixed and paralyzed by her performance. Why she didn't win is beyond me! It just shows that the common ear can not listen to the articulations of great music! Just do a beat loop and a couple of stupid lyrics, and you make millions these days! We've lost the meaning of it!

It’s rare Tom Jone has a voice that can keep up with his magnificent voice in a duet. This lady with golden vocal chords sure can. I hope she fueled up her music career. 🥰

Sir Tom Jones is a true gentleman, I believe all he says and shows, and having him showing such emotion, I think, is the highest honour for anyone who can be on the voice UK.

She is a beautiful singer. You don’t hear voices like hers anymore. It’s a wonderful pleasure!

I'm ashamed to say that today I saw and heared Sally for the first time. And she touched me so hard that I was completely swept of my feet. What a voice and what a beautiful Lady she is. Her voice is the result of the life she had and the things she had to go through. For me, she was the winner of that contest. She's great in every way and Sir Tom Jones made one of the best choices he ever made on The Voice. ❤❤❤

So excited that I found her songs on iTunes and purchased them👍 I am from the era when Tom Jones fans swooned when he sang, and his voice today is as wonderful as ever! He recognizes a ‘jewel’ when one is presented and Sally Barker is that ‘jewel’‼️ I hope they remain forever friends! It was meant to be and for good reason that she was chosen by him in the blind audition! I was so certain that she would win, but she IS ‘a winner’ to all those who love her and her soulful voice - she will go far in her career- people know her already all over the world( I’m from America)👍. I love Sally’s voice in particular….just beautiful…..I am so glad Sir Tom turned around…..definitely magical. So glad to find this from the UK Voice.

Seriously her voice is surreal , the depth and texture of emotion on her crystal clear tone just pierce you right in the heart and soul , who has that tone ??? Nobody else , she's unique , that can't be learned in any school, that's a precious natural gift , I love watching how Tom gets emotional listening to her and also the support and love of her sons cheering for her is Amazing .

Tom Jones is the greatest new find of the twenty-first century. Sally Barker and Tom are made in heaven.

This woman should be a world-wide star. She has the whole package. She has the depth and nuance to her singing that most don't. I don't think the young voters appreciated the actual voice as opposed to all the over producing of talent that goes on these days. She's a real star, no matter where she ended up. I think she brings listeners to a other place - every single time she sings. She should have one!

It was a great challenge for Sally between young children and a traveling singing career. She had made the right decision to stay with her children rather than go to a singing career! God bless her.

Sally ran a clinic on vocalizing. it's like she understands the lyrics and she's making you feel them through her amazing instrument with perfect energy and power. and she scales with perfect timing. as close to perfection as one can imagine.

for me she is the absolute queen among the previous singers by the voice

She looks and sound like a seasoned veteran, of the music industry, as if she were a famous know singer.

"Performing" is a poor choice of words as she's emoting each note and feeling every word.. Sally is just gifted with one of those gorgeous folksinger storyteller voices~that reaches right down into your heart. And she plays so effortlessly with the melodies but clearly chooses lyrics that are meaningful. Because her voice may be wistful, at other times heartwrenching~but always genuine, and utterly captivating♡
