Being great at something gives you an edge, but it doesn't automatically mean you can teach others. Judging from her interactions with the kids and the videos though, she seems to do very well and is a fun teacher.

She chose to sing the Eva Cassady version of "Autumn Leaves", and I've never heard anyone come close to Eva on that song---till now. STUNNING!!!

Her voice is butter, silk, liquid gold. She is so pretty and pure. She reminds me of my daughter. She is completely herself and she is absolutely comfortable being who she is. Damn!!!!

You know your good when you’ve got millions of fans and all you had to do to get them is walk around and sing. No dancing or dancers, no T&A hanging out of your clothes, no makeup or fancy hairstyling. Deana’s with staying power and the kind of singer that would be timeless and wouldn’t sell out to people or the music industry. Her lower register is smooth and full and she can still hit those higher notes. She is absolutely fantastic.

Looks? Shes just wearing comfy clothes but she's absolutely gorgeous though and that voice is amazing!

They talk about look because the clothes. Most singers now wear "elegant" (like the girls she beat) or "street clothes"

She is so cool, beautiful inside and out, great voice and style of singing - no unnecessary runs, no fake, just exactly what each song needed...man, she’s awesome just the way she is! Never change a thing!!

Every once in a while those early battles are a problem, a duet vocal comes together with a chemistry that just begs to go on instead of end. She and Peter should definitely sing together again.

She shines when smiles and her face and hair are sophisticated. His dress is cheeky and fresh... And Tom is a legend as in the music history as gentleman and a nobel soul.. No matter who won she deserves a contract to. Her voice is lively and classic.

You know I don’t believe I’ve seen anyone quite like her, her personality draws you in it’s like you know her and beautiful everything about her is beautiful. I just can’t get over her voice.

I love how she talks, she walks, her looks, her beautiful voice and her very beautiful soul ......

That is a very good point. A lot of judges on these programmes try to change their contestants and pull them away from their own natural way of performing. This is the perfect example of what happens when you allow a naturally talented person to be themselves. Do you remember Mo from The Voice? He was the same. Pure, raw talent.

Her voice is soothing to the soul. I could listen to her all day. A true gem.

Her voice gives me chills. She's unbelievable. And yes, singing with Tom Jones makes her the winner in my book. I think she can totally fill the void left by Eva Cassidy.

She reminds me of Pink. Strong and who cares what you look like on outside...you've got it!! Love your voice!!!

Is so relaxing watching Deana sings because she's unpretentious and enjoy every moment of her singing. She's beautiful and so is her voice.

Deana (and Tom Jones recognized it right away) is a classic chanteuse up with the best. Her unique interpretation of melody defines a whole and integrated identity which, in performance, comes out as character. Her voice is a beacon of authenticity. She lays it down, like legislation. (you could say I like her)

Not to take away from Deana, she did a stellar performance of the song. That said, listen to the woman who styled Autumn Leaves as she and Deana sang it. Watch Eva Cassidy's [RIP] live video at the blues club and listen with headphones. Nobody before or since has come close to the level of Eva Cassidy.

Shes already a winner. Her family and her students and she just has one of the best voices I've heard in a long time . I could listen to her all day . Her voice just pulls you in and it's so easy. .

I love how there doesnt seem to be anything fake or contrived about her and her story. And how the judges didn't really need to say anything, you could see it on their faces as they listened. So, so good.

What a beautiful soulful voice. She is like a book - full of stories and feelings. Amazing. Truly talented! She sings like the old classic movies - so cool.

Ever since she appeared on The Voice I've followed her on social media. She's so cool & fun.

The light with In her shines so bright. You can't help but be drawn to her.

I was really impressed by her voice. It's no surprise that she teaches singing for her profession, because her breath support is fantastic. She makes things that take huge support feel light and effortless, to such an extent that it's mind-boggling. I love the nuance and color that she adds to notes, too. I'm glad to see that she got as far as she did, as she was a joy to listen to.

this girl has the purity of voice and control that k d lang has. i don't think there's anything she can't sing flawlessly.

Her beauty comes from the inside out! She has a beautiful heart, a beautiful voice and personality!

Her voice is gorgeous, so powerful and pure, a reflection of her soul.

Just imagine being a young person and performing with Sir Tom Jones. This would be such an honor. Their harmony was fantastic.

She brought tears to my eyes ….Autumn Leaves…just beautiful…

Oh My Gosh, I cried every time she sang. I felt every passionate heart beat behind every note. And when she and Tom both sang, well hell, I was bawling by then. Sure, it would have been great if she had won but hey, she was a star from the beginning. She has so much to give and I believe she won't let the music industry change who she is or pull her away from her love to continue to teach. She is a true blessing and a joy to hear sing.

I would love to buy an album from her if it's old jazz standards. She has the voice for it and I think that's the niche where she belongs. Not that she can't do pop, she can, but old Jazz standards and related genres require a certain kind of special voice and talent that she has got and the world could certainly use someone with her talent making such beautiful music.

I have seen so many auditions and singers for years, and none of them had an impact on me as much as this amazing voice. I was so drawn into her because she is beautiful more so because she doesn't cover it up with makeup and just dresses casual. I am truly lost for words because it's one of those things you only imagine of. I hope to see an album and more performances because I would love to see more.

What IS deceiving is the label on this video. Deana doesn't have two heads, she isn't 'weird' looking. She isn't extraordinarily large she certainly isn't unattractive. While she might not be a dolled up pop singer, she looks just fine.

I think the big deal about her looks is more so that she wears her regular clothes and backwards hat rather than a dress.. which I don’t understand because why wouldn’t people want to sing in what makes them feel comfortable

She looks stunning in the Autumn Leaves song! It's the first time her outfit didn't overtake her performance --- in my opinion; but don't get me wrong, I like her individuality. I just noticed, I look more at some of her outfits than looking at her when she sings because she dresses hip-hop but sings in a voice that is nothing like her outfits.... She's got a beautiful, classic voice that I could listen to all day long!

Oh wow!!! What a voice! Not sure what "looks" was all about but she is incredible. Talented singer, beautiful inside and out. And a music teacher to back it all up ^__^. Second place is no small feat. She did amazing. Deana has an amazing future in the singing career is she pursues it. Voice so smooth and I would listen to her singing every day if she would.
